Wheelchair Rentals in Orlando

Does anyone know a good company that rents wheelchairs cheaper than renting them at Disney and will deliver to Disney? My aunt wants to go with us but she is gonna need a wheelchair, preferably one that is electric, the whole time we are there. AND will they allow the electric wheelchairs, like the ones they rent at Disney, on the buses?

Check the disabilities board under FAQ, lots of great advice. I have used Randys with good results, but there are others that people also use. They are great over there with any questions you might have!

I rented an ECV (electric scooter) from Walker Mobility in Orlando. They delivered it and picked it up ....smooth as silk. All of the WDW buses and monorails are very wheelchair/ECV friendly!

Just to clarify, electric wheelchairs are different from the ECV's. What you're probably looking for is an ECV. They generally don't rent electric wheelchairs to people unless they have one they regularly use at home. ECV's are much easier to drive. The last time I was there, I rented from Randy's the number is in the Disability sticky. If she doesn't use one regularly or hasn't used one before, I would recommend them because they deliver it to your room and will show you how to use it, etc. You can take it on all the Disney buses. There is only room for 2 ECV's and wheelchairs per bus, so just be aware of that when making plans to make an ADR or something, you need to leave earlier than normal. Also, if she doesn't use one, head over to Wal-mart or Target or the grocery store to practice driving it around and being able to back up and such. Have a good vacation!
