Can anyone tell me how much the rental fee is? We will be going soon, and I'm not suppose to be exercising (I'm pregnant) so DH is going to push me around the park for a day! Just wondered what the cost is so we know what to expect. Oh, and will the CM let me just sit near the handicap entrance till my party goes through the line? I don't want to upset people who think we are just using the chair to get through lines faster. Thanks!

Last time I had to get one, the posted price was $8/day, if I remember correctly. You got $1 or $2 back when you returned it.

Hi, belle41379!

If you are staying onsite, there are a limited number of wheelchairs available from the resort on a first come, first serve basis.

As far as the lines...you don't have to worry as almost all of the rides at WDW have mainstream queues so wheelchairs don't have a separate entrance. The few that don't are mostly the ones in Fantasyland and mostly you will just be asked to use a fastpass, so that when you come back you will go in through the faspass queue.

If you have any other questions, come on over to the disAbilities board!

Most of the lines at WDW are what is called "Mainstream Lines" which means people with wheelchairs wait in the same line with everyone else. So, havinga wheelchair does not allow you to get ahead in line -basically what it gets you is a place to sit while you wait.
Here's a link to the official Disney website page about mobility disabilities, which has info about Mainstream lines. If you scroll up a ways from where the page opens, you will find park rental info.
Rather than a wheelchair, you might want to consider an ecv (electric scooter). They are farily easy to drive and allow more independence (plus no one needs to push you). There are limited numbers of ecvs available in the parks and they might be all rented when you get there -especially if you are arriving at the park later in the day.
The resorts do have a limited number of wheelchairs to loan out (they can't be reserved ahead of time). Some people have had good luck and other found them to not be in good condition or not be the size they needed.
Here's info abour outide rental places. If you only needing to rent for one day, you might be better off just renting at the parks, but for longer time periods, it's less expensive with one of these companies.
