Thanks!! All good suggestions. My daughter's venous malformation is in a really tough spot physically (i.e. - foot). This creates this unique dynamic where she needs to be in motion to drain the blood from it. It looks like she is restless but in reality she is just doing it to reduce the pain. When she was younger it used to be painful both to walk, and to remain still. The only way to help it back then was to lie down with her foot elevated to drain the blood. Now she is on an experimental drug that has been a miracle for her. Her favorite thing to do now is walk/run as it keeps the pain away.
You know, you can always try the "bubble" method for your daughter in queues; that's where you station a family member (or two or three) behind her in line, and then allow a "bubble" of about 6 feet or so (any more, and people behind you will probably get pretty cranky) for her to walk around in. As the line ahead of the bubble moves forward, your team of family members keeps her moving forward, and keeps the bubble at about the same size, giving her enough room to keep moving all the way through the queue.
It's a strategy that works for a lot of folks who need to keep moving while stuck in a line that is either slow or stopped.
