On tuesday we tried to ride Nemo, but was told that the wheelchair clam shell had been taken away to make improvenments, and that they where hoping to have it back by Christmas.

That's kind of sad to hear. It seemed to work fine when we used it for DD's wheelchair in early October. I can't think of anything they could do to improve it, so it will be interesting to see what changes they make.

Thanks for the heads up.

Clam shell back and working, they have changed its position in the ride, from number 10 to 88, and have added a panel to the inside of the ramp door, made no difference to us, but they must of had a reason to do it.

thanks for the update
as you said, they must have had a reason for the changes, though I can't see why.

I'm sure this is already discussed somewhere, but mind if I ask... for those of us who can transfer, how is it? Is it like HM? They have slowed down the walkway for me there and although it's still difficult, I can still manage it. Do they do that for the clamshells? Thanks :goodvibes

there is a thread about the Nemo ride with pictures. I can't look for it right now, but if you go back a few pages you may find it.
The clamshells are similar in shape, height of the seat and arrangement to Haunted Mansion. There is a moving walkway, which can be slowed if you ask. Everyone boards at the same place, so you don't need to board somewhere else if you transfer.
The exit is quite similar to Haunted Mansion.

Thanks very much Sue :goodvibes I did look for the thread, but it only goes back 3 pages and I don't see it, but you did answer my question. :)

The post I was looking for no longer shows the pictures. I have a bunch on my computer I could email if you want.
The threads that churchy found are good ones though.

If you are planning on going any time soon be prepared for the shell not to be working, it was off again yesterday!!!!!!

thanks for the links churchlady! I apprecitate it! I should not need to use the wheelchair clamshell but it's good to know it should be there. (next trip is probably Aug. '08) It's just great to go in with all the information I can get (and this board has been GREAT for that) ahead of time. Knowing what to expect and/or what to ask for has really helped make our trips much better than going in clueless!!

My sister and parents rode in the wheelchair clamobile on Christmas Eve day so they had it up and running then. My mother could not stop raving about it since she and I have to transfer my sister on a lot of the rides and allowing us a break really helps.
