Hi everyone,

In two weeks I will be going to Disneyland with my cousin who is in a wheelchair. I know that on Its a small world there is a boat where he does not have to transfer and I am wondering if there is a similar boat on the jungle cruise?

Thank you in advance

I was on an accessable boat when I rode the Jungle Cruise last trip (last month); the wheelchair area wasn't being used when I was aboard, so I don't have any details as to whether one would have to get out of one's wheelchair to board. But there definitely is an accessable boat. Hopefully someone else who's had experience with this can answer...

From the access guide I picked up at Disneyland's City Hall two weeks ago (dated 08/09):
Jungle Cruise
Guests may remain in their Wheelchair/ECV.
Enter through the exit. A wheelchair/ECV accessible boat is available.

The access guide is a great thing to have, with directions on wheelchair/ECV access for each attraction in DL and DCA. If you haven't used it before, be sure to pick one up at City Hall when you enter the park.

Edited to add - there is a very detailed guide (in PDF format) that you can view/download/print from the Disneyland Resort website in advance if you want. It can be found at this link. The online guidebook is from 2007, so you should still pick up a current access guide on your trip.

thanks for the link, I will also be traveling with my grandfather this November and the wheelchair info was very helpful!
Thanks!:thumbsup2

Thank you everyone for your help. I thought I had seen a boat a few months ago but I was not sure. I will have to look at the guide and see what else we can do that we might have never known of.

The wheelchair accessable boat is so cool. When my DM was in a wheelchair, she had to be entered on the boat backwards & then a CM had to push it around w/ his hands so that it was facing front & then they pushed a button where she was lowered into the boat (unlike IASW where they just stay on the top). I was really amused by everything. The line is @ the exit on the right side, there's a little aisle made by rope.

Another attraction that you can go on w/out leaving the wheelchair is TSMM, but the bad thing is that you have to go through the regular line since there isn't one for wheelchairs. And on top of that, you have to wait extra for the wheelchair accessable vehicle to show up so it's an extra 5-10 min.
I'd say that the most interesting attractions would be Nemo & the Sleeping Beauty walkthrough bc they are both held in a room & you're watching a movie.
