Whats your Valentine's Day plans?

My DH and I are going to a B & B in New Hampshire for the weekend - received a gift cert last year and didn't use it yet so decided to try this! Makes me alittle nervous though, because my teenage DD's and one w/a boyfriend will be home on their own!! Last time we left them for a long weekend to FLA, we had to come home early as my DD fell ill!

DH & I are hiring a sitter and heading out for dinner at Red Lobster and a movie. DH has been working 7 days a week since the end of January, so I'm just looking forward to seeing him for more than an hour! :teeth:

After the usual Saturday morning swimming lessons and basketball games, I will take youngest dd to the Build A Bear store at the mall, because Valentine's Day will be her 6th birthday.:lovestruc

I’m really excited about this one since it’s the first with my DBF and it’s been a long time since I’ve had a Valentine! So I got theater tickets for Saturday (Mamma Mia) and I’ve made reservations to stay overnight at a 5* historic hotel near the White House. I didn’t make dinner reservations, so we may end up picnicking in our hotel room (we definitely won’t be able to afford room service at this place!) This is all going to be a surprise to DBF and I think he’s going to love it. Can’t wait!

Well, it's my first Valentine's as a married lady, and in true newlywed style, we are BROKE! :teeth: He has to work part of the day, so I am sending homemade cookies with him to work (it's a tradition my mom started). When he gets home we are going to our favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner. After that I'm sure we'll just watch some TV together. It will just be nice to spend time with each other. :) We are actually going to be going with friends to Disney's Hilton Head Resort the weekend after Valentine's Day, so that will be a lot of fun. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I will be cooking DH's fave dinner........flounder stuffed with crabmeat. (first time I made it for him, we were just dating about a month, --after he ate it, he knew we were going to get married if I could cook like that.----actually this is from a man whose mom couldn't cook,)
for dessert, I found a recipe for Molten chocolate cake, (individual cakes with a liquidy, gooey, chocolate center) garnished with strawberries.

We are going out to a new Italian place Friday night (to avoid the crowds and set menus). DH has to work Saturday but I am planning a surprise romantic dinner and dessert. And Sunday we are off to WDW for the day.

I get to see DBF tomorrow morning :) :) :) He's been working or out of town or unable to come over because of weather every day for the past month.
Saturday, I'm going to have a combination birthday party/Valentine's Day party (probably focus on Valentine's Day) for the kids.

My DH just surpised my yesterday by telling me that we will be driving out to my mothers house, having her babysit, and then going out to the restaurant of our wedding caterer who is a famous NYC chef who now runs a restaurant where my mom lives. The chef doesn't take reservations but my DH went to the trouble of calling him directly telling him who we were and saying how special it is every time we get to go to his restaurant and relive how wonderful the food was at our wedding. We're in like flint for Valentines night at one of the most popular restaurants in the area! Woo Hoooo! :love2:

I will get my mom some shrimp for the evening as a thank you for doing this for us.

Saturday night, my daughter's winter color guard will make its season debut and Sunday is my son's first theatrical performance in a community theatre group's musical, so we will probably not get to "celebrate", except to spend time together as a family. I am one of those people who think Valentine's Day can be celebrated any day or every day when we show our love for each other. All the hype and the outrageous waits at restaurants just annoys me, so I am glad to have an excuse NOT to celebrate this weekend. DH and I bought small chocolate candy hearts and some Disney trading pins for our kids and will send DD a flowergram at her competition. And we will probably go out for ice cream after the musical on Sunday. LOTS to look forward to!

let's see...first off, we'll be taking our puppy to the vet. then shopping for supplies to build a gate to keep her in the kitchen...then i think we'll be going to the store and getting stuff to make chinese food at home. he makes these fabulous eggrolls....then we'll probably watch tv or rent some movies...just a nice quiet romantic evening at home :)

In the morning is swim lessons and basketball practice. Then, for that night, we are having Family Night. We are ordering a heart shaped pizza, then after dinner the kids get their little Valentine's presents from DH and I, then we all get our jammies on, move the coffee table out of the way, put blankets and pillows on the floor, and we are going to watch Alice in Wonderland. The kids (especially DD10) love when we do Family Night!

DS is having a friend over Fri night - Sun afternoon so his parents can go away for a romantic weekend. (told her remember there will be "pay back")

Sat DH & I will be going for lunch - just the 2 of us

Sat night not only will DS have his friend spend the night but 1 of DHs friends will be staying over also. The 3 of us are going to Foxwoods early Sun.

Just came home from work and there's flowers on the table!
and tuxedo chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge!
and the card is hugh

DH, DS9 and DS3 are leaving Friday afternoon for an Adventure Guides (formerly Indian Guides) indoor camping weekend. That leave me home alone :teeth:.

We're not big on celebrating the special occassions day so it will be a treat to be home myself, doing what I want to do, when I want to do it. I want to work on my scrap book. I also have to take the boys cars to the Pinewood Derby race. Both DS's are hoping to coming home to new trophy's sitting in their rooms.

DH is in Louiville Kentucky for a trade show, and won't be back until Sunday afternoon.

DD is doing a sleepover at the local YMCA on Saturday night!

I'm thinking it is a glass (or more;) and a good book!

Valentines Day is always a very speical day to my mom and I, because it is also my grandma's birthday! Even though she passed away in 1999, we always doing something really special in honnor of her. I miss her so much, she was like a second mom to me. My mom was a single parent for the first 2 years of my life and my grandma and grandpa where always there to help take care of me.

If you can hear me Grandma, I would like to wish you a "Happy birhtday" and happy "Valtentines Day"! And I love you very much.

My DH is on duty (fire chief) so I will be alone!! Well, my DD (5) will be here!

My Valentine Plans are to stay away from the restaurants on what will probably be one of the busiest days of the year and cook some seafood here at home, have a nice glass of wine and spend a quiet evening together.
This is our plan too. Bought the boys Lion King 1.5 for Valentine's.
