What's your side job?

I had a temporary second job 43 years ago when I got out of college. Worked 7 am to 3:30pm with two week days off, then 4 pm to Midnight Monday through Friday. 80 hour work week for about 6 weeks. Never again. I learned to live on 40 hours pay.

I don’t know if I’d consider it a “job” at this point, but I referee soccer. Just got certified this year. So far this spring, I’ve done 25 games or so. On an average of about $40-$50 per game, I’ve made a little over $1,000 this spring.

If I wanted to, I could probably be doing 4 or 5 games each weekend day, but then I’d also be divorced within a year 🤣

What is Sports Official liability insurance running these days?

I keep the "books" for my old FT employer. They have "shut down" but have another company producing one of the brands, so there is still some income/expense that needs an accounting professional. It is very minimal work so the pay is excellent (per hour).

I watch my neighbors daughter in the morning and walk her to the bus stop and get her on the bus. Her mom has to be to work by 7:00 in the morning so I watch her for about an hour and a half M-F. I did not want to take payment but she insists on paying me.

I "retired" from my 2nd job back in February. I was the evening office manager for a church down the street, I made sure evening/weekend activities are staffed among the 3 staffs. It was a great side gig, but I've come to a point in my life that my time is more valuable than extra $.

My DD has a wonderful job but did a couple of shifts last week at a popular restaurant in Toronto after work…..made over 1000.00 in tips. This will only be over the summer.

I don't work but I do occasionally help a friend with his 2nd job doing flower arrangements for special occasions.

No clue. The leagues I ref for carry liability insurance.
Interesting. The insurance the leagues here have only cover volunteer officials. If you accept pay, you are expected to buy your own insurance.

I am a church organist, and I clean the office I work in on the weekend. The cleaning job was done by my older DD, then younger DD, then I kept it up after she went to college and she helps when she is home.

Last year, I was an Advanced Placement reader.
This year, I was a driver for the Master's tournament.

As a teacher, I try to do side jobs when I have time off (Spring Break, Summer Break, Fall Break, Christmas Break)

My side hustle is pottery. I attend 3 to 4 festivals a year, have 1 wholesale client that buys in bulk and several family and friends that purchase as a make or order items to be made. It is my therapy and I really enjoy making items that people love and want to use.

My daughter had an etsy store for a hot minute, but I don't like shipping items because the risk of breakage is not worth the effort. The only digital platform I use is facebook, she and I are business partners: https://www.facebook.com/DragonflyPotteryGals/
