We have one neighbor cat who adopted us this summer named Ralph.

Also my Mom's dog Elsie comes to visit a ton.

i've read that for cat's its better to name them something that has an ee sound on the end, that they respond better?

I had a cat named Tacky. The first three letters are C A T spelled backwards.

We had a maltese named (using a southern drawl) Precious. Because my mom's business partner was from NC and went with her to pick up the puppy. Miss Jean held the puppy on her lap in the car and said, "Well, isn't she just Precious!"

I had a cat that we couldn't decide on a name so she just became Kitty. and later Miss Kitty.

I had a dog named Chrissy, because she was a Christmas gift for my son.

We thought we would be adopting three more cats/kittens. We are partial to female animals, and I had names picked out for all three... Violet, Ula and Suri.

Well, I ended up adopting two male kittens and Violet and Suri just didn't fit them. But Ula did. (He's the character in the movie 50 First Dates.) Ula is currently pictured as my avatar.

Then my second kitten was mostly black with white whiskers and eyebrows. He became Mister Whiskers.

I'm still searching for my Violet or Suri.

My cat's name is Chloe and my parakeets are named Winkie & Petri. The cat my mom made me get rid of who now lives with my best friend is named Toby and our lumber yard cats are named Kitten and Snowflake (my family owns a lumber yard; Kitten is 19 and has been here her whole life; Snowflake is also old but only recently joined us).

Well...DF has two new kittens that we need names for - and we are stumped! They are both grey girls, and one has a little bit of white on her chest. Anyway, I thought I would start a thread to get some inspiration for some names. So, what is the name of your pet?
I have a beagle named Bagel and a cat named Roo (her mom's name was Kanga).

One of my friends has a gray cat. They first got the cat when they were very young, so she and her younger sisters named the cat "Grey Kitty" and that has been her name ever since.

My chocolate lab is named snickers his nickname is snickerdoodles , my other dog is named india,

my black cat is called zachary binx from hocus pocus but his nickname is binx or binxalinx, binxles, binxy butt ,binxy
my white and peach cat is called peaches and her nicknames are peachy keen or princess peach , peaches and cream
my russian blue is called smokey and his nicknames are gray fiend or smokels, smokey butt

I want an English Bulldog and I am going to name her Stella. I don't know why, but I think it is the perfect name for a Bully.

Shelby is our little green lizard (came from school when my daughter was in 5th grade...she in now in 7th... everyone elses has passed but one other. This "free" pet cost us over $80 to get a tank set up for her/him?? And we have to feed it LIVE CRICKETS once a week or so!! Needless to say we all have come quite attached!)

Airplane is my 4 year olds Bata Fish's name. It has been: Spiderman, Blue, Rainbow, Nemo, Lighten', Red... I guess he changes it depending on the fishes mood!?!? But he is the one who feeds him, sometimes to much! And takes care of him. The fish is so funny, he lets my 2 year old pet him, she will stick her finger in the whole and the fish will rub on her... he won't do it to anyone else, just her.

That is all our pets... we don't have any fur friends, and probably won't anytime soon.

Skinny and Fatty: Well, when we adopted the sisters their names were Ginger and Nutmeg, but we wanted to change them, so they became Frick and Frack. Then one of them just got fat while the other stayed skinny, hence their names
