What's your peculiar 'thing'?

Im another one who avoids Ice Lollies like the plague, if I do have one I have to wrap the wrapper around the stick and can not eat the last bit of the lolly incase my teeth touch the stick, Im the same with small wooden spoons they give you with tubs of ice cream, I throw them away, bend the lid and use that as a scoop instead.

I always leave the meat on my plate until last and eat the veg first.

If I make a curry and rice, I have to put the rice in a almost perfect circle around the edge of the plate and the curry has to go in the middle, not on top of the rice.

If Im eating a ready made meal and eating it from the container, I always start at the left hand side and eat it from the top to the bottom right over to the right hand side.

Gosh how weird am I:lmao:

I also hate tea, its horrible.

Lolly sticks, I love chewing them after finishing the icecream (which I also chew), I also chew pencils & pens:rotfl:.

I also have to chew the ice cubes at the bottom of a drink.

Worst food of all is Marmite, that makes my eyes water and I have to spit it out.

I also chew lolly sticks and pens/pencils etc, pen lids never last long in our house!

I can't stand the taste or smell of alcohol!! Yes you read that right! The only alcohol I like is vodka, I hate everything else, it just all tastes vile to me. People are always telling me that Ive just never tasted a fine wine etc but I have and its horrible!! I don't even like the taste of it in food, if someone has put even just a little bit of wine in a sauce I can't stand it and sherry trifle makes me heave!!

I also hate celery, again just the smell of it makes me feel ill!

Jen you just made me really cringe :scared: :scared: :scared:

Its the fact that I can't STAND lolly sticks - never ever ever ever chew one near me

and banannas cant go near one, the smell, the taste, the texture, can't bear it if someone in the office has one, I have to leave the room, I hate them so much I think I have even spelt it wrong !

OK I know this isn't a food peculiarity but I'll never use products that contain royal jelly. I have a fear of most insects and the thought of an insect product knowingly touching me - uuugh! (I know I won't turn into a bee but ...)

Oh, yes, and the thought of eating prawns (wet insects, need I say more) although I like the flavour if the bodies are disguised.

Libby

P.S. I do eat cochenial though - I don't know why I don't find that a problem.

I agree with a few things my meat has to be cooked properly no sign of blood. I hate the smell and taste of tea but i love coffee but it has to be really strong 2 teaspoons of strong coffee. My main hate is curry the smell of it makes me heave and i could never put it anywhere near my mouth. Grose!!!! I never buy a tin if it has a dent in it.

when I was pregnant I had very extreme sickness (hyperemesis) which has led me to still have with food aversions to things that I vomited when I was pregnant. I still associate them with being sick. I can't eat ginger biscuits, yogurt, bananas, drink milk, or ribena without retching.

I hate tea too - lots of fellow tea haters here :) I was once forced to drink a cup of tea on Brownie camp and I was sick all over Brown Owl's shoes :rotfl2: My worst nightmare would be a meal which consisted of peas and tea - yeuchhhh :sad2:

My meat needs to be red, blood red most of the time, in fact, i'm not averse to hearing 'mooooo's' from the kitchen just before the 45 second searing on each side! I just cannot chew well-done meat or swallow it (i've tried!).

I don't like warm milk AT ALL...its ok with ovaltine, cocoa etc but on its own it kinda makes me :scared:

I only like plain yogurt. The only thing I will add to it is coffee (it sounds weird but is delicious!) and sweetener.

I intensely dislike flavoured water!

I never thought of myself as someone having peculiarities about food but I guess I do!

Beetroot, I LOVE beetroot. Not the jars, but the fresh stuff at the salads in the supermarket. Thinly sliced on tuna mayo sandwiches..........yum!!!
My eggs have to be runny, and my toast very pale or I just cannot eat it.

I love tea, can't function without it.

I have to have coffee about once a year for about one week to get the craving out my system but then I don't have it again for about another year!

I hate the smell of warm milk, hot chocolate & cocoa. I also hate the smell of meat cooking!

I only really eat tropical fruit like mango, melon & pineapple, but if I have to have normal fruit then the apples have to be sliced up first.

Any sign of fat or gristle makes me retch  and my meat has to be almost cremated:rotfl:

When having toast it has to be well done and only butter used (I have low fat spread on everything else) and it has to be cut across the way and not down the way.

The one thing I absolutely positively cannot cope without is Salad Cream. I have it on all my meals including roast dinners and yes it gets mixed in with the gravy, curries, fish & chips, chinese, salads, etc. I used to carry a small bottle around with me just in case!

I think you're all MAD MAD I SO you'll be going on holiday to visit a MOUSE next.;)

You guys are all very strange.

I have nothing at all to add to this thread. Nothing, nothing at all, thank god!!!:lmao:

As a child I would put everything, no matter what was on my plate, between bread and eat it as a sandwich. I put it down to always reading and only having one hand free to eat with!

I cannot eat meat if it has ANY gristle or fat on it, especially Chicken. Only pure white Chicken for me.

If I have a fried egg or sausges or chips (or all three!) I can only eat them if, after cooking, they are patted down with kitchen roll to remove any excess fat.

I prefer my food to not touch each otherbut it isnt a disaster if it does. I figured that out when I realised I eat pasta, lasagne, curry etc.

:yay:
