If you had 2 full days and 3 half days to spend in Disney, would you leave out a Park? If so, which one? How would you split the time? :confused3

Just found out we are going in 8 weeks..... :yay:

I plan at least 18+ months in advance for each trip. I've never planned on such short notice.

So - 5 days, 2 full day & 3 half day (business trip obligations) - How would you split it?

You don't say if you have kids or not, but my choice would be to leave out MGM. I know that is controversial, but it is more waiting for shows and having to work around show times than any other park. I would do a full day in MK and EPCOT and then the half days I would do one in MK, one in AK and one in EPCOT. I would eat in the hotels on the meals that you don't have park tix for, like Ohanas, Chef Mickeys, or Bomas. I am a planner too, but I think it might be kind of fun to just "wing it". Have fun :wizard:

I would probably skip MGM too- I'd have to go to AK to ride Expedition Everest.

In general I would say skip AK, but I also agree with the above poster about Expedition Everest. If you wouldn't want to ride it anyway, skip AK. Otherwise, give AK a half day. If you have 2 full days and 3 half days, you really could do all 4 parks IMO. Half day at AK, Half day at MGM, Full days at Epcot and MK, and then decide where you want to spend your other half day.

I would do full days at MK & Epcot. And then I would play the others by my mood. If you have always been a "planner" it might be cool to just wait & see. And I am a "planner" & I ahve always wanted to just fly be the seat of my pants on a dw trip.

I'd skip AK, or give it 1/2 day. I'd definitely give MK and Epcot full days.

Ooops, I did forget to give some family info - we have 3 kids. 12yr old, 7 yr. old & 3 yr. old.

I too, was thinking full day MK, full day Epcot and half on MGM and AK - with a possible half in MK again.

If my oldest didn't need his Rock-n-Roller Coaster fix :thumbsup2 , and my 7 year old didn't want to see Lights, Motors, Action :smooth: and my 3 year old didn't love Playhouse Disney :woohoo:, than I'd skip MGM.

But they do, so I can't. But hey, it's all Disney.

Thanks for the feedback. It's so good to get fresh ideas and re-think some things.

I'm just a bit freaked out by not having any real time to plan. I know I have 8 weeks, but I usually work on 72 weeks - I know, obsessive/compulsive all the way!

Thanks again! :goodvibes

I would leave out MGM or just visit it on a one of the half days (our family doesn't care about this park as much as the others). I would spend one full day at MK, one full day at Epcot, one 1/2 day at AK, one 1/2 day at MGM, and the last half day either at MK or Epcot again.

I wouldn't skip any...I'd split up one day for Epcot (leaving out WS) and AK. I put in AK so I could get my chance at Everest and KS.

 I wanted to skip AK at our next trip but DH wants to do EE now!
OP, it sounds like you have a good plan already!
As a fellow OCD sufferer, I don't think we could fly by the seat of our pants in WDW if we tried! :rotfl2:
I think 8 weeks is great and you could plan a lot during that time! How great to have a surprise trip to plan!

I would do my full days at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Then 1/2 day at AK and MGM. Then you can spend 1/2 at your favorite park or which ever one you feel as though you didn't finish. That is kinda what I am doing for my upcoming trip.

Last summer (2004), I was in the same situation. I was in a CME course in the mornings, and had 4 half-days to visit parks. I left out MGM, and didn't really miss it. My son and husband came, too, and they did a half-day at MGM while I was at my meeting.

I would definitely do full days at MK and Epcot! If you had to leave a park out I would choose Ak. But, you can easily do Ak amd MGM in 1/2 days.

That's probably what we would do. Except I'd probably keep third half-day open for whatever we decided we wanted to fit in, or do again, in the previous days.

Have fun on your *spontaneous* trip!

Full day at MK and Epcot
Half day at MGM and AK
Use the last half to return to your favorite park.
