I got a quote of $2185.00 for hotel & passes using the visa deal going on for 6 nts at POR for 5 people: me, dh, kids 10, 9, 5. What do ya think? Is this a good deal? Do ya think I could still get 6 nights cheaper? We definitely would like to stay at a mod. or better. But of course we want to save as much as possible to apply money elsewhere i.e. dinners, shows, etc. Thanks for your advice.:D

That sounds like a great price to me!

You didn't mention when you were going but I priced out your package using a AAA discount, purchasing the components seperately, and Disney's quote was about $180 LESS.

I'd keep it. Have a great time!

Seems like an ok deal.

POR regular season rack rate is $144. Add $15 per night for an extra adult for a total per night of $159. 6 nights with tax would be $1,058.94. You have 3 adults and 2 children in the party. 6 night/7 day UPH are $365.30 per adult. With the Visa promotion the kids play free. The total cost of passes would be $1,095,90. Total of $2,154.84.

You are essentially paying rack rate for the hotel and advance purchase list for the adult passes..................and getting the kids passes free as part of the Visa promotion. You are saving about $532 off the list price you would pay without the promotion, about a 20% savings.

How does that stack up with other possible savings? Well, assuming that AP rates were available for your dates you might getthe hotel for a total of about $630. Add in one AP and 4 6 day PHP's and your total could be $2,168. Looks like your 20% savings under the Visa promotion is about as good as you could hope to do. I don't even think a Fairytale Package type deal would be any better if they even offered it.

I'd go for it.

But she DOESN'T have 3 adults so there wouldn't be the extra $15 per night charge for the room. A child of 10 is still considered a child when it comes to room occupancy. The only thing is that they need to buy an adult ticket admission.

I knew 10 was adult for admission.............I wasn't sure about the hotel. So without the $15 per night you can knock $100 off for a total of $2,055. My guess is that the quoted amount includes insurance or something else that gets it to $2,185............but it still seems like a good deal.

The extra $15 still applies in this case. POR charges an extra $15 per night for the rooms with the trundle bed

Adult age for the resorts is 18. Age 17 and under is a junior and free.

But you would also need to know how many days they will be using their UPH..(late arrive, early departure) and are they going to want to go to Water Parks during there stay or just the parks....so maybe they could get just PH tkts and one AP pick up a good AP rate for room...that may still be less expensive plus maybe able to upgrade to deluxe with AP rate. We would need to factor all the information in to come-up with actual cost.

So yes, thats a good deal...but with more inf we may could do better.::yes::
