Whats your opinion of Boma's

I love it, although only had dinner there. I really enjoy african food and the bobotie's my favourite dish. It's also great for DH as he's vegetarian so gets a fantastic selection there.

Definitely do Boma's. It is not your usual buffet and we love dining there with the DDs b/c the selection is so varied. I'm not a real big soup guy, but their soups are delicious...3 of the 5 were truly memorable and we ended up getting the recipes for 2 of them so we could enjoy them at home....the DDs ate like vultures, devouring almost anything we put on their plates and DD2 really loved some of the veggie salads. However, DW & DD1 joined the zebra dome fanatics club as they wolfed down plate after plate of them.....I'm pretty sure after eating all of her dinner, a few different soups and a good 6-7 pieces of watermelon, that DD1 still had 6-7 zebra domes at Boma's, plus another 3 of the ones I picked up at Mara's for DW to enjoy in the room after the DDs went to sleep...

whats in the zebra domes??
I believe they are a chocolate/kahlua mouse topped with white chocolate, striped with dark chocolate, sitting on a thin slice of cake which is dipped in coffee/toffee sprinkles and then chilled.....I believe there is actually a recipe for them on the DIS cooking boards...

i have booked garden grill at epcot and i am wondering if to change it to Boma's *** i can't see my DD who will be 2 eating anything there. i've booked mainly buffets *** its easier i think with her she will eat different stuff but she tends to eat a lot of bread, pasta and potato and not much meat so now i am confused

I don't suppose they will have them at breakfast buffet will they? We thought we'd try the breakfast this year for a change but my DD10 and I are going to miss our plate of zebradomes...kidding(not) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: If they aren't does anybody know where we might get one or two before we leave the lodge? Thanks!

I swear I read they had them at Mara?

I'm not big on repeating restaurants. Always like to try something new. But must do this at least every other trip

We did dinner last Sept. at Bomas and we really enjoyed it! What we also enjoyed was arriving a few minutes before our ADR (7:30) to find the waiting area so packed you could hardly get through. I gave our name and we were the next group seated-in about 5 mins.! Just goes to show you that ADRs are really the way to go!

Oh, and it's the one place someone from the Disboards came up to me and said "aren't you on the disboards?" She recognized DD8 and myself from the pix I've posted. We felt like celbrities! :rotfl2:

Anyway, the food was very good. :goodvibes There was even plenty to choose for the less adventurous members of our group. We'd last eaten here in Sept. 2004 and my DM said she didn't like it. I convinced her to give it another try and this time she said something like "I don't know why I thought I didn't like it before, but I really liked it this time"

All members of our group found plenty to eat. DM (pretty adventurous eater-though nothing too spicy); DSis (pretty unadventurous though she does like sushi (No they didn't have any)); DNiece25 (also pretty unadventurous though sometimes she surprises me); DD8 (loves chicken nuggets, hamburgers, mac 'n cheese, fruits and vegetables); and me (about the same as DM but I will eat things a little spicier-but nothing curry:confused3 )

you can definitely get zebra domes at The Mara.
You can use them as your dessert with a CS credit, or as a snack credit.
I had quite a supply to them last year. YUM!

We will be arriving Sunday for our stay at AKV. We have ADR's for dinner that same evening...can't wait! Last time we staying at AKL lodge we couldn't get in.
