What's your one week GRAND total?

We are a family of five with kids ages 3, 5, and 8.

For this trip:

400(not including tax) for 5 day park hoppers with the military special

500 for food(that includes two character meals--Cindy's for b'fast and CP for dinner)

150 for travel expenses(we're driving)

100 for souveniers (my kids got some neat flashlight swords at MK for about 6 bucks each last year, btw)

30 resort mug refills

200 for MNSSHP(rounding up...I don't remember the exact cost of tix)

25 Mousekeeping

100 misc.

So with the military discount, this trip should be about 1500. With our five night room rate, we're still under 2000. WOW. It adds up doesn't it? But what memories we make!!!

Here's what I'm thinking for our July 2004 trip.

6 days/5 nights at the WL - $1100 (including tax)
4 - 5 day park hopper plus tkts - $888 (2 adult, 2 children)
Food, Souveniers, etc. budgeted at spending $1000

Driving from GA so no car rental needed

Total budgeted $3000 for 2 adults, 2 children

For this upcoming trip we are doing eight days (leaving really soon!)

FTP package Wilderness Lodge.. $1800
Four UPH included in FTP

40 Q & C vouchers $ 450

Driving down gas both ways $ 120

One offsite night $ 65

I've accumulated some ebay money, rebates, test drive incentives, and other items which would accumulate to about $300 or so

Thats not bad considering its eight days, four people, and a deluxe resort.

We had orginally booked with All Stars but switched to Wilderness Lodge. That price was about $400 less

Excluding the hotel costs in Orlando, our approximate costs for our upcoming trip:

Travel – $350 (includes gas, food on road and 2 overnight stays in hotel)

Paying someone to watch our Dogs – $200

Souviners – $600 This includes, picture packages at WDW, developing film when we return, and all purchases excluding food/drinks

Food & Drink – $800 ( incl. $293.25 in connections vouchers)

Tickets - $830 5 day Park Hopper Tickets (2 adult, 2 children)

Parking/Housekeeping tips/Other tipping/Putt-putt/Arcade and other Extras - $150

Total $2,930

Plus we estimate hotel costs to be $870 for a total trip cost of $3,800.

FTP YC including UMP (7 nights/8 full days) for 4 adults (2 teens) and 1 child: $3400

Airfare for 5: $1235

Rental Mini Van $240 for a week (total of $480 for 2 weeks)

2Teens get $200 each for spending (doesn't include what we might buy for them)

We bought $416 of meal vouchers - includes 6 lunch vouchers, and one character breakfast for all and 14 Q&C

Hoop De Doo $225
MNSSHP=$200

Souveniers, tips & extras we may purchase $600

In addition, since it's so far we're making this a long trip, we're staying at HRH Club 5 nights=$1250, 5 day Universal passes=$430, meals/souveniers=$500. Plus 2 nights before we start Universal=$220 (2 rooms), last night after Disney $110 (2 rooms) and another $300 for meals/etc.

We figure we won't be back to Disney with our teens until after they graduate and we only go on a big vacation every 3 years. We'll spend around $9000.

For one week at disney not including transportation & hotel, it's around $600 per person.

I have been with 5 before for 9 nights a few years back and this is no joke it was 11 grand  We used my whole bonus check from my job at the time . But now when I go I cant spend that much so I just dont. I am going in Oct and taking my little nephew and I am taking around$1200.00 for spending and food money. He has never been and he says he wants " a tiny bit of everyding aunt sue!" LOL.

Have a great trip !

We are 2 adults, and DD1:
Meals (3 meals a day, 1 PS most days, some food court) 756.
Tickets (2 APs) 754
Airfare frequent flier miles
Room (10 nights-AS MO) 950
MNSSHP (not sure yet) 65
Rental Car (mid size- all 14 days) 295
Souvies unknown
I did not include meals and lodging for while we are visiting relatives and friends, but if I did, it would be about 345. Please note that the car is actually for 2 weeks, so deduct about 60. for non-disney use. Plus, keep in mind that we will use our APs (hopefully) for our next trip.
The total WDW portion of our trip is 2760. for the 11 days. If I were to venture a guess, I would say we will spend about 600-1000. on souvies. We will get a Pal Mickey, lots of photos, go to the outlets, and buy lots of presents for DD10 and DD14, who couldn't come due to school (and they couldn't care less either).

Here is our budget for our upcoming trip, two adults:

BCV - staying on our points

AKL - staying on our points

HRH - $125

Universal 2 Park 5 day tickets: $200

UPH tickets: $600

Food: $1200 (this includes meals we have planned and snacks. We love to try the different places to eat around the World.)

Spending: $700-$800 (the difference is for those GOTTA HAVE items!)

Gas: $100

Rental Car: $350

Misc: $500 (Again, for those forgotten items, or the GOTTA HAVE items!)

We are also budgeting $75 to drive our pups to my parents so they can watch them while we are gone. $75 is alot cheaper than $400 it takes to put them in a kennel.

Total: $3850 - $3950

We, myself, my mom, and my 4 y/o usually get the Poly bill up to $2500-$3000 for a 10 day stay. That doesn't include the hotel. That does include eating out every meal at the resort or the parks, room service, souveniers, and other junk we can't be without.

I can't believe that so many of you can go so cheap-you must all have it down pat on how to save while you are there. I can't seem to get this trip under $3000 everytime I figure it all out......of course I include everything.....

In the past you have been able to get minivans for cheap but lately that has not been the case...March 2003 I paid $201 including taxes and fees....Nothing even close to that now...

I found a code on mousesavers and got the van from Dollar for $192 per week (it was an american express code and I don't remember which one or if it's any good anymore). It's costing us a total of $530 for 15 days. I thought that was pretty good. We are staying at 3 different hotels so it made more sense for us to rent a van.

I did post the great deal I got awhile back in the rental car section of the boards, but am not sure how to find that now.

Ours breaks out like this:

1 Adult, 1 Child (four). FTP staying at ASMo for 8 days - $961.00

2 Tickets from JFK to MCO on Song - $290.00

MNSSHP Tickets - $58.48

Mears or Towncar, don't know yet - $??

6 QC Vouchers - $67.50

2 Breakfast Vouchers (1 adult one kid) - 29.50 (I think)

2 Kids Lunch Vouchers $25.00

Other Meals/snacks - $250 (rough estimate, my son is four so he isn't a big eater and I'm not a big eater either)

Neverland Club - $50

Pirate Cruise - $28.00

Souveniers - $150

Total: about $2000

Sure beats last years $5000 trip where we stayed at the YC and ASMo (WITH CODES) for a total of 9 nights. We spent A LOT of money on extras, went to MNSSHP twice, and there was 3 of us then.

I did elaborate spreadsheets the first couple times we went and ultimatley figured out that exclusive of room, rental car, and airfare and park hoppers, that we need about $150 day for the three of us - DH, me, DD. And the last trip we took, even that wasn't enough. I'm not sure it would be much more to add another child. I usually say 1/2 that for arrival and departure days. That covers all souvenirs, tips, snacks, meals, AND martinis and beers ( I just love all the new specialty martinis LOL!) We always make a trip to the WDW outlet store, and try to only do 1-2 "special" meals a trip.

The thing is, the information is out there to figure this out yourself because only you really know your family's travel habits. Study the menus and, set a limit on souvenirs, allow $100 for WDW pictures and other impulse purchasing, allow $10-$15 day for tips and dollar here, dollar there, and Figure each "snack" in the park will be about $7-$10 (e.g. popcorn and a soda). For every meal cost that you calculate from looking at the menu don't forget to add 30%. This will cover tax and tip and the occasional extra (cup of coffer, etc) that you might forget when figuring.

Our 7 night May trip with DD (3 1/2) and DS (22mo):

Driving: $120 in gas, $80 total for hotel there and back (found decent ones for $35/night each direction!)

Hotel: Got a 2BR at OKW off ebay for $750 for the entire week! MIL and SIL came with us, and contributed $100.

Grocery stop: $110

Charged EVERYTHING to our room key except for a $2 ice cream sandwhich. Total was way less than $400 for souveniers, meals, snacks. Didn't do any sit down meals. Let's call it $400 and say that included getting prints from our digital camera.

Blew the wad by buying APs ($1100) and vowing to return at least once more.

Grand total was just about $2500 for everything, and we have free admission when we go back!

We went on DCL last year and I spent less than $100 the entire week. DH and I love to travel, but we can only continue to go the places we go if we really watch the bottom line. $2500 isn't a cheap vacation, but it was a bargain for the incredible time we had!

We stay in FW for 10 nights in Feb and drive from Indiana with a camper. There are 2 adults and one 6 yr old.
Total cost $1,600
Food: $300
Camping: $320 (10 nights)
4 Day Hopper: $450
Gas: $200
Motel for trip: $80
Misc. $150
On rest days we go to a beach on the coast, read, ride the monorail, visit resorts, Downtown Disney, read, swim, walk, bike
Most of our meals are at the camper. We do one Character meal and counter service in the parks. This year we might do Ohanas also.

We're traveling next week with four adults -- we are splitting our vacation among Disney and USO.

Travel:
Limo to JFK - $120 ($120)
Airfare - $180 ea. ($720)
Rental Car -$190 ($190)

Universal Studios Orlando:
USO Preferred Annual Passport - $181. ($181)
3 2-park/2-days Tickets w/ 3rd Day Free - $82.61 ea. ($247.83)
1 night @ Royal Pacific Hotel, Entertainment Rate + one adult - $150 ($150)
Food - $125 ($125)
Souvenirs - $150 ($150)

Disney:
7 nights @ Hotel Royal Plaza - $63/night + tax ($504)
4 Day Park Hopper Passes - $204.48 ea. ($817.92)
Food - $320 ($320)
Shopping - $300 ($300)

We don't really eat a lot. I've been to Walt Disney World every year since 1999, so there aren't many souvenirs left to purchase. :)

The total is approximately $3600 for the four of us. We're splurging a bit in an overlapping reservation for one night at Universal's Royal Pacific Hotel. We wanted the FOTL privileges and it was cheaper and more convenient to just get a room than it would be to buy the Express Passes offered for $25 ea.
