Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Baby you can drive my car...

because I am SICK of being DD's taxi service today (I'll be leaving for my 4th trip to pick her up in a few minutes, and then on to guitar lessons).

I just want to get out of work today so I guess this would be it

The sun is hot and that ole clock is moving slow and so am i
The work day passes like molassas in wintertime, but it's July
I'm getting paid by the hour and older by the minute
My boss just pushed me over the limit
I'd like to call him something, I think I'll just call it a day

CHORUS
Pour me something tall and strong
Make it a Hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve, but I don't care
It's five o'clock somewhere

This lunch break is gonna take all afternoon and half the night
Tomorrow morning I know they'll be hell to pay, hey but that's all right
I haven't had a day off now in over a year
My Jamacian vacation's gonna start right here
If the phone's for me, you can tell them I just selled away

CHORUS

I could pay off my tab
Pour myself in a cab and be back to work before two
At a moment like this, I can't help but wonder...
What would Jimmy Buffett do?

Jimmy: Funny you should ask, Alan.
I'd say...

Pour me something tall and strong
Make it a Hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve, but I don't care
(twice)

Alan: He don't care
I don't care

Together: It's five o'clock somewhere

Jimmy: What time zone am I on?
What country am I in?

Alan: It doesn't matter.
It's five o'clock somewhere

Jimmy: It's always on five in Margaritaville, come to think of it

Alan: I heard that

Jimmy: You've been there haven't you?

Alan: Yes, Sir

Jimmy: I've seen your boat there

Alan: I've been to Margaritaville a few times

Jimmy: All right.
That's good

Alan: Stumbled my way back

Jimmy: OK Just want to make sure you can keep it between the
navigational beacons

Alan: Between the bouys.
I got it

Jimmy: All right.
It's five o'clock.
Let's go somewhere

Alan: I'm ready.
Crank it up

Jimmy: Let's get out of hear

Alan: I'm gone

That's gotta be my song too. I just finished my summer college courses. My idea of finishing college early and taking classes all year long is really starting to sound like a bad idea and starting to wear me out!

Take this job and shove it,
I ain't workin' here no more.

The rest of the lyrics don't apply to me, just the chorus today! ;)

....
And I thought if I towed the right lines
But these mockingbirds won’t let me shine

One day this ground will break
And open up for me I hope it will I hope it will

Salutations at last down on my knees
I heard the bugle this morn blast reveille
Woke from a dream where I was in a terrible realm
All my sails were ablaze I was chained to the helm
And now I am overwhelmed
I’m overwhelmed
....

Work in construction and this is the biggest project of my career. Had a meeting today and they want to change the whole design. Summer is always busy, but this year has been crazy. I'm overwhelmed. The song above is a snipet of "Mockingbird" by Grant Lee Buffalo.

I'm in a "cb" kind of mood today:

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
Our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know,
People are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
Your name.

....if trouble were money
I'd have more money then any man should,
I'm open for business in your neighborhood,
The Blues is my Business
and business is good...........

yup, its that kind of day..

You think you know me
Word on the street is that you do
You want my history
What others tell you won't be true

I walked a thousand miles while everyone was asleep
Nobody's really seen my million subtleties

Got stains on my t-shirt and I'm the biggest flirt
Right now I'm solo, but that will be changing eventually, oh
Got bruises on my heart and sometimes I get dark
If you want my auto, want my autobiography
Baby, just ask me

I hear you talking
Well, it's my turn now
I'm talking back
Look in my eyes
So you can see just where I'm at

I walked a thousand miles to find one river of peace
I walked a million more to find out what this **** means

Got stains on my t-shirt and I'm the biggest flirt
Right now I'm solo, but that will be changing eventually, oh
Got bruises on my heart and sometimes I get dark
If you want my auto, want my autobiography
Baby, just ask me

I'm a bad *** girl in this messed up world
I'm the sexy girl in this crazy world
I'm a simple girl in a complex world
A nasty girl, you wanna get with me?
You wanna mess with me?

Got stains on my t-shirt and I'm the biggest flirt
Right now I'm solo, but that will be changing eventually, oh
I laugh more than I cry
You piss me off, good-bye
Got bruises on my heart and sometimes I get dark
If you want my auto, want my autobiography
Baby, just ask me

:teeth: everyone says that song fits me.....and i really feel like it does today!!:teeth:

It's not easy being green....
