The gym where I attend is open 630am-7pm M-F, 8-12pm Sat (not open Suns)
they have 3 treadmills, bike and eliptical - I use the treadmill about 30/60 mins/day. They have 8 Cybex machines which I use 3xs/wk. Lots of free weights that we use in classes.
they have lots of classes but with a fulltime day job I can only attend:
Mon - Yoga, Wed - Pilates, Thurs - Instructors Choice, Fri - Strength, Sat - Step
I joined Oct 1st and got in at the $25/month rate for the first year. Owner currently raised prices to:
$25 machines only, $35 classes only and $44 if you want to use everything

How much does your gym charge? whats the hours? open Sundays? do they have classes included or extra charge?

For people on a very tight budget. Most gyms offer workshifts as a babysitter or front desk help in return for free membership. Usually one babysitter is paid for continuity and the other is a volunteer. One gym required 1 3 hour shift per week, the other required 1 shift every other week.

My gym is open every day. M-F 5am-10pm Weekends 7am-7pm? (not quite sure when they close)

The gym is huge and has everything. Downstairs weights, cardio, basketball court, daycare. Upstairs pilates room, group exercise room, cycling room, older kid's daycare, and cardio room. All of the cardio machines have their own tv with dvd player. We also have 2 pools and spas plus saunas in the locker rooms.

Its a great gym but its pricey. I pay $69 a month and for a family membership its $129. Plus an additional fee for childcare.

I worked in the daycare for almost a year for an hourly wage plus a free family membership. But quit once I got pregnant so now I'm paying. I'm hoping to hit the gym this week since I just got the clear from the docs after the baby was born :)

I belong to a Powerhouse Gym and the membership is $39 a month. That includes the weights, day care, cardio and classes. Tanning bed and personal trainers are extra.

I belong to a gym at my work. It's $20 per month for those that bank employees (unfortunately I'm not) but we do have associate memberships that are $40 per month and that's what I pay.

They have 8-10 treadmills, universal equipment, several elliptical machines, bikes and rowers. Plus a section devoted to free weights with a section with matts on the floor with different sized exercise balls for abs. The big draw for most of us though is the variety of exercise classes. They offer a daily extreme abs class usually around noon and then each day features different classes like weight lifting, slideboard (one of my new favorites), yoga, stretch and tone, kickboxing, boot camp, step and sculpt and core training. The classes are a lot of fun. What I have started doing is doing treadmill in the early morning and then taking a class at lunchtime.

It's a corporate gym so they are only opened M-F but they open at 6:00 am and I believe close at 6:00 pm. I have belonged for a year now and since the memberships renew every six months, I think I'm going to give the gym a break this spring when my membership is up. I miss the flexibility of working out at home and miss my Firm work outs. I can see and feel how my butt has sagged since I've stopped using the fanny lifter and I want my firm butt back! :)

I pay $89.xx/mo for a family membership - 4 people. That's auto bill pay, it's higher if you pay mo/mo. There was no membership fee as DH did a 'free week' before we joined, so it was waived. We can go to any of their 4 facilities. Website is www.defined.com All have pools, classes, weights, machines, etc. Includes 2 sessions w/ a personal trainer. No commitment & you can rejoin w/o paying a joining fee.

We go to the local YMCA it is about $72 for a family of 3. It is open 4:30 - 11 M-F, 6:30 - 7:30 Sat, and 11:30 - 7:30 Sun. It includes all classes, equipment, weights, pools, etc. daycare is extra, but if you volunteer in your child's class you get vouchers for the daycare.

Our local Y is $36 for individual and $52 for family... but we have shorter hours. 5:30 am - 9 pm M-F, 8 am - 4 pm Sat, & 1 pm - 5 pm Sun. Two hours per day of daycare is free. Swimming "lessons" and special programs like "Spring Boot Camp" are extra.

I was a member before at La Fitness(big one one west coast) and it was $99 set up fee(blah) and $25 a month for everything but I think you had to pay small amount for daycare fees I never checked as I didn't have a kid then. :confused3

I loved it because they had indoor swimming pool and hot tub/spa which was nice to relax in after a long workout. ;) :thumbsup2

I'm thinking of joining curves because right now when you donate a bag of food they way set up fees. But I dunno how much it runs a week or month??

Id do La Fitness if I could but its farther and I really don't have that much money to spare. So probably won't join either.

We have a multi generational center(something like YMCA) in our smaller town and its $3 a day and $2-3 if you use the daycare. A year is like $460 for a family but don't remember for single person. Its a little better than most gyms. I was thinking of signing up for the 6 month plan for family which is 200something. They have martial arts which I know dh wants to get back into.

I'm lucky enough to have a gym at work. It's FREE and it is open 24X7. If you can get in the door with your badge you can use the gym. It has 1 rowing machine, 3 exercise bikes, 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 stair climber, a nautilis type system and free weights and benches.

So I guess I am pretty lucky. The downside is that I live 40 minutes away so I don't use it on the weekends.
