Whats your middle name and why ?

My middle name is Eric. After my father. Poor choice, mom. And even though it's my middle name, it's what I go by.

My first name is also the same as my father's. Thankfully, I'm not a Jr.

I'm another Anne (but mine is with an E). My parents said my middle name is after a family member of my dad's, but her name was Anna-Theresa... And she went by Theresa. (My sister's middle name is Theresa.) My parents apparently preferred how Anne (vs. Anna) sounded with my first name. I'm not sure if it really counts as "named after" if you change it!

I am not going to post it because it is very unique and it would be easy to look me up. I will say that I was named that name because of the area my dad grew up (overseas).

I had no middle name. My parents said my name was long enough without one. And my Dad also didn't have a middle name so there was that.

Another rebel Elizabeth here, my middle name is Mary. There were lots of Marys on both sides of my family and my parents liked how it flowed with my last name

Marie Both my Grandmothers were Mary apparently my mom thought that was close enough.

Mother always said my middle name was "trouble", but I don't buy it. I have yet to find a legal document that backs up her claim.

I won't share it because it's too unique, but my middle name is my paternal grandmother's maiden name. I love it so much when I got married I kept it and dropped my own maiden name.

Mine: Lynn, same reason as above. The go-to middle name in the 70's

DH's: Z. He was formally adopted as a teenager (after I met him) by his stepfather, and since he never had a middle name, he kept Z which was the first letter of his original last name.

Our kids:
DS1: Orion. After Orion's Belt
DD: Grace. Because I love the way it sounded with her first name.
DS2: Joel. Supposed to be Nicholas, until 2am the morning I was to be induced, when DH woke me up to urgently tell me that he thinks the middle name should be Joel (after DH's twin brother) rather than Nicholas. Knowing I wasn't going to get another good night sleep for the next 6 years (or more) with a 5 year old, 19 month old, and newborn in the house, AND almost absolutely positive that I was carrying a girl so my DD could have a SISTER, I promptly agreed so I could fall back asleep, dreaming of meeting my perfect sweet little Olivia Isabelle. My 3rd and final baby - A BOY - was born later that day as A. Joel instead of A. Nicholas, and he cracks up at the thought that he was almost christened with the middle name of Nicholas!

I don't like posting my full name places, but my first and middle name are my grandmothers' first names.

I'm another Lynn from the 70's with my sister getting Marie.

We gave our kids our first names as their middle names. (we have 1 boy and 1 girl so worked great!)

Violet  It's my grandmother's name. I don't love it though so I don't advertise it! Lol!

Love it! Violet is a beautiful name!

I'm also an Ann. I don't like it and it has no significant meaning. I think if you were born anytime between 1965 and 1985 and your parents were unimaginative you either got Ann, Lynn or Marie.

1978 and I am a "Kay". :)

My middle name is Lynne, which also happens to be the name I go by. So maybe I should provide my first name? It's Rebecca.

In either case, my name "Rebecca Lynne" was given to me because "That's what we wanted to call you," as my mother said. My brother's name is Daniel Joseph (paternal grandfather's middle name) Allen (maternal grandfather's middle name), thus appeasing both sides of the family. When it came time to name me, and my mother's mother expected me to be Gertrude (her middle name), my mother drew the line and decided to offend everyone by giving me a name that held no real meaning to either family. So she just chose what she liked.

I don't have a middle name. Only a middle initial, that doesn't stand for anything.

Ellen, because that is what my mother liked. And it adds a nice flow to my full name.

Michelle - I assume that my parents liked it.

I gave my boys middle names that were family names
Steven - his dads first name
Parker - my maiden name.
