I just can't make up my mind where to eat for my last night (staying at the BWI), I'm already eating solo at Flying Fish (which I love), California Grill and others with friends but I'm toying with the idea of going to Jiko for my last night (never been), or sticking in the Epcot area with either Bistro de Paris (never been) or Blue Zoo (last went a couple of years ago and loved it).

Any opinions fellow solos or any other suggestions?

Thanks :goodvibes

Though I've eaten solo almost every single meal of my life for the past 7 years, there's still some places I'm not sure I'd go alone, and Bistro de Paris is among them. I've never been, but have heard it's a really nice, quiet, dark little romantic place. Not the kind of place I usually enjoy by myself.

That said, I really enjoyed Jiko, and it's kind of a fun place too, though that could also have been the company I was with. Blue Zoo was fantastic, and is one of the best kept secrets of all of the restaurants at WDW (imo). I've also really enjoyed Kouzzina for both breakfast and dinner. Very flavorful food with great service for every one my few meals there.

I think Jiko is a great option. The food is great and the service I got there last year was amazing. Plus, there is lots of stuff to look at and it's a great atmosphere.

Thanks all, I think I've discounted Bistro de Paris, TBH I was thinking it was a little 'romantic' so not sure I'd feel very comfortable there. It's looking like a choice between Blue Zoo and Jiko :woohoo:

Jiko is wonderful and I like to eat at the counter overlooking the cooking. You can visit with the chefs. You need to ask for that in your reservation.

Ride the monorail to the Grand Floridian and hit up Narcoossee's. Just sit at the bar, order some drinks, and have a WONDERFUL time.

Solo or not - chillin at the bar at Narcoossee's is absolutely amazing. They will serve the full menu and keep you entertained.

Jiko is wonderful, there steak and adult Mac and cheese is superb. However I am partial to the california grill. Delicious food and a magic kingdom view...what could be better? Also, best steak I have ever had.

May I suggest the Flying Fish??? Too late - I just did. The Boardwalk is fun for evening walks, people watching and interactions. Have Fun!!!

Unless things have changed in the last couple years, they told me I couldn't request the counter at reservation time, I could only request it at check-in. The hostess at check-in told me that it would be rare for it NOT to be available, though, so you should be all set. It's a lot of fun there-

My 2 sig restaurants from my solo trip in November were Jiko and Narcoosees. Jiko was best!! I sat at the cooking place which is the bar like table where they do all the first courses. You can interact with the chefs and they really make you feel welcomed!!

Narcoossee had good food, but, my server was not so good. She seemed thrown off that I was dining alone. And it wasn't even that full!! Next time, I'd eat at the bar there which I hear is quite nice!!

Jiko is still my fav. Food, wine and atmosphere are all an A+++++ in my book!

Well, I'm still 'tossing' around where to eat :lmao: I really like the look of Jiko but I'm not driving so getting to AKL from the BW isn't going to be as easy as it could be, I'm thinking of perhaps having a second visit to Flying Fish, or returning to Blue Zoo, or trying Jiko. :confused3 The more I'm thinking the more confused I'm making myself lol

Several years ago, I ate solo at California Grill. At check-in I asked for a window table-since I'd be alone, it would give me something to do during dinner, watching all the goings on. They gave me a nice seat by a window and my server was just so attentive. However, had I not gotten a window table, I'm not sure it would have been so great-kind of loud and bustling.

Hrm, based on recommendations here I've decided to dine at Jinko's for my solo signature dining venture. I'll try one of the seats overlooking the kitchen, too.

I have a 5:30 pm ADR. Not sure if I'll be able to make it from there, to the MK for the parade at 8pm, though. I'll have a car, but it seems like it might be faster to take the bus direct to the TTC.

Joining the Jiko counter chorus.

Probably the only thing possibly better would be staying at AKL concierge, booking the sunset safari, and dining in Jiko with about ten people at the big table because it gives you a chance to sample more of the food and gives you more company. The Safari also gives you somebody to rave about the food & wines with.
