I usually buy Braeburn. I have tried Jazz (mix of Braeburn and Gala) and it was pretty good though sweeter than Braeburns.

When Apple Picking time is here, and the Apple Farm down the road opens, the trees I make a beeline for are the Paula reds (early season) and the Cortlands (mid season). Still love the traditional Macs, too.
