What's your favorite SNL sketch?

I remember one that cracked me up: 3 of the guys were dressed up in the same outfits--white suits and Panama hats--portraying Cesar Romero, Fernando Lamas and Ricardo Montalban. They were having a discussion of some sort and then they got mixed up as to who was who.

"I am Ricardo Montalban!"

"No, I am Ricardo Montalban!"

I dunno what it was, I just couldn't stop laughing.

Hands down... Brian Fellow's Safari Planet!

Can that bunny do math?
The rainforest? That sounds wet!

I'm a fan of the original SNL - and I always loved Bill Murray and Gilda Radner playing Todd and Lisa. Love those polyester pants Todd.;)

I have many favorites, but since I got my second tag, one stands out in particular! ;)

There are so many but the first one that comes to mind is Celebrity Jeopardy with Sean Connery and others. I have those on MP3 too and just die laughing whenever I hear them.

I love all those skits mentioned. :D Cheeseburger Pepsi really stands out to me and also the first one mentioned with Christopher Walken with the cow bell. I always laugh so much with that one!

I watched SNL last night and couldn't believe the "Colonel Angus" skit. I was laughing and blushing at the same time:hyper:  Christopher Walken is great. I also love the "more cow bell skit" my family does that one sometimes when we are out in public and boy do we get some strange looks.

sketches
Has to be the Chippendales audition with Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze.

and

Like another post, I like the celebrity jepardy especially when Norm McDonald is portraying Bert Reynolds.

This thread brings back so many memories. :hyper:

The Blues Brothers, Toonces the Driving Cat, the Coneheads, Jack Handy...

It's ALL good! :)

I'm not sure this would count as a skit, but My favorite piece of SNL was the "Let's Get Small" episode.

I too loved Eddie Murphy's James Brown impression. "HOT TUB!! Gonna make you sweat!!"

I liked Land Shark. :) Brian Fellows is pretty funny...my favorite one was where he was angry at the snake because he was "hiding his arms behind his back so he could sucker punch his a**" hehehehe :)

Bill Murray as the lounge singer, featuring a then relatively unknown Paul Schaeffer (sp?) on piano.

The two ladies who sang "clang clang clang goes the trollies"

Phil Hartman as the anal retentive chef.

I remember an episode from waaayyy back when Carole King (i think) was the musical guest. There was a skit where she was sitting in her house at night, visible through a window, working on the lyrics to the song "you just call out my name, blah blah blah, and I'll come running....you've got a friend". Someone comes to her house to visit, and before this person can ring the bell, they're mugged and beaten. I just remember the person calling out "Caarrrolllll" all the while she's singing "call out my name....I'll be there".

I also used to like the skits set in a shopping mall lacking for business, where Bill Murray worked in the tape boutique...all they sold was Scotch tape.

There was one with witches around a cauldron, describing how horrible the concoction smelled. I forgot who was in it, but it was hilarious, they were describing all kinds of disgusting things, like,"it smells like a cow's bladder left out in the sun with a pound of fungus-riddled toenails sticking all over it." It made me sick and crack up at the same time!

Boy, has this thread taken me back!!

Eddie Murphy as James Brown, OMG was that funny!!!

I also LOL at the King Tut sketch with Steve Martin. I just loved him on that show!

One of the ones Michael remembered was the skit with Mike Myer's in his Cawfee Tawk garb, with Madonna and Roseanne on the couch all dressed up like him, "tawking" about Barbara Streisand and and how her voice was like "buttah" and she SHOWED UP!! They all looked sooooo shocked! I found out later that none of them knew she'd be there!

It was also the week that Mike Myers was in the number one movie (Wayne's World), Madonna had several big songs, and Roseanne's show was Number one. All I could think of is how they got such big stars on SNL at one time!

  OMG, I forgot about that until you posted!!! Great thread!

I loved the ones with Steve Martin as King Tut and being a wild and crazy guy with Dan.

I loved the Church Lady.

Brian Fellows is great.

My son loves the Frank Sinatra sketch with Stevie Wonder.

Coneheads

Hmm...I'm usually not up late enough to watch it anymore..my son has to tell me the good skits.;)

I love this thread! Such memories. Like someone else said- I feel like I've been watching SNL since I was born! I know atleast since I was young....

The only skit on this thread that I don't remember is the cowbell one- explain it more so I can remember!

Too funny that several have mentioned the "more cow bell" skit! When I read the title of the post that is the skit that came to my mind first. Now, whenever I hear that song I LOL to myself and the cow bell seems to stand out even more.

My other really LOL skit is the one where Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze are trying out to be Chippendale dancers and Chris Farley is just shaking his big belly around with out his shirt and he wins out over the very buff sixpack abs of Patrick Swayze to get the gig.

I also remember that skit from waayy back with the Carole King song and the guy( I think it was Bill Murray) yelling "Caaroooll" to "You just call out my name...." in You've Got a Friend. Now that's another song that is not funny but makes me laugh every time due to that skit.

I remember being in 8th grade and not being able to watch the show (my parents thought it was "inappropriate") but all the cool kids were going around saying lines from the show (cheeseburger, cheeseburger.. King Tut).
