What's your favorite restaurant?

Shiver's BBQ or Shorty's BBQ
At Shiver's I like the catfish. At Shorty's the beef BBQ

Sushi Kinoya.
It's a local sushi bar up the street. Excellent rolls and unique dishes. Plus the staff is so friendly. They call my DH Chrissy-son (his name is Chris :wave2: ), it is cute.

Second would be Cheesecake Factory. There are several around So Cal and they are all always packed. Yum.

I love love love Chili's chicken crispers! :thumbsup2 We also love to go to Fritz's in Crown Center in KC. They bring your food to you on a train and then it lowers to your table. It' lots of fun and pretty good cheeseburgers and milkshakes. KC also has some great mexican restaraunts downtown. We don't get to them often but they are yummy!

My kid's loved Fritz's! The train delivery around the restaurant was very cool!

My favorites:
The Melting Pot (don't have one nearby)
Maggiano's (chicken parm sandwich)
Ruth's Chris Steak House (sweet potato casserole)

A small Italian restaurant that a DISer introduced me to when I first moved here. :teeth: (Hi, Gwen!! ) Was just there last month with someone and ordered baked ziti. WOW!! Was it great!! The person I was with asked me what's good on the menu. I told him..."everything!" He was happy with what he ordered also. As far as I know, there are just two of these restaurants. :cloud9:

Local Pizza: Andolini's
Local BBQ: Sticky Fingers (ribs and peach cobbler)
California Dreaming: the big salad, croissants, and Shrimp San Francisco
Gilligans: Grouper Fingers and hush puppies

I'm pretty easy...if someone else is fixing, it's good.

Mine's a local steakhouse called "The Angry Bull". Love their steaks! They serve baked potatoes as big as footballs. Great service! We have our favorite waitress and always ask to be seated in her section.

You must live in the Sandusky/Huron area...we're headed up there this weekend to visit my family. :thumbsup2

Amy :)

My favorite place for chicken is Popeye's in Lake Geneva WI. It is so tender and juicy! I also love to be right on the lake.

My favorite steakhouse is Timerlodge. The bread and salad rock!

My favorite pizza place is Geno's East in Chicago--love the deep dish!!

My favorite chain is TGIFridays!! Love the nachos and fajitas!

My favorite Chinese is East China Inn

My favorite sandwich shop is called Nicky's in Naperville, IL. They put their turkey club on a croissant--yummy!

Bob Chin's Crabhouse, just north of Chicago in Wheeling.

The garlic rolls are incredible, and I love the dungeness crab! Plus, they serve huge Mai-Tai's ;)

Favorite- Benihana! Yum, I could go for some shrimp in that ginger sauce NOW.

I have cool news for Portlanders- we saw a 'hiring' ad in the paper for: SHULA'S! Woo! Not that we don't have a Ruth Chris, a Morton's and other great steak houses, but I dream about the potato skins I had at Shula's 3 years ago! Now I can get them any ole' time. Any ole' time I have $100 to blow on dinner that is! :teeth:

Probably Papadakis - Greek restaurant in San Pedro, California. mmmmmmmm :cloud9: great food and wow, can those Greek men dance!! :woohoo: Hubba hubba!

Or NoNo's Cafe - family owned cajun and comfort food in Littleton, Colorado. Food so rich I can gain weight just looking at it! :cloud9:

Or Del Frisco, but only if someone else is paying. :rotfl:

Independant are almost always better than chains, IMO (except chains like Del Frisco!) My favorite casual chain restaurant is probably Boston's. I love their salmon ceasar salad.

IMO the best food can be found at Mary Mahoney's in Biloxi Mississippi.

If you are ever in Biloxi, eat there, everything is Delicious. John Grisham eats there and mentions it in several of his books. It's just that dang good!!!!

I seem to like chains the best- Applebees, Pizza Hut, Cheesecake Factory and especially RED LOBSTER! yum.

Not locally: The California Grill :)

Locally (if you want to call it that): The Macaroni Grill
I "Create My Own" and it's usually bowtie or fettucini noodles in the tomato cream sauce, with spinach, artichokes, and mushrooms. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! I'm going there Tuesday! :)

I have several local favorites for different kinds of meals:

Fleetwood Diner for breakfast--they have this stuff called Hippie Hash and it just makes me swoon. :rotfl2: It's hash brown potatoes with just about everything thrown in--peppers, onions, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, and feta cheese all over the top--I know there's more but I can't think of it all. I get the gyro style that has gyro meat added in. Yum. And the portions are HUGE. I take the extra home and get two more meals out of it.

For dinner, there's a local restaurant called Sahara's that has really good Middle Eastern food. I'm very fond of their stuffed grape leaves. Similar to the kind I make at home but without all the work involved.

My favorite restaurants for Mexican food are in New Mexico which means I don't get there too often anymore. :teeth: There's one called La Fiesta that serves a meal called the Las Cruces. It's grilled chicken breast with grilled green chile and onion on top. It's the best meal ever on a cold day--it'll keep you warm for hours. I do really miss sopapillas--I can't find them anywhere in Michigan.

I love some of our local restaurants...unfortunately it seems that they can't compete with the chains and often go out of business. We had one called "Simoson's" and I can still remember during mother's day how those servers (almost called them CMs) went out of their way to make my children happy so I could enjoy my meal. love it!!

ps - since it is the disboards, I have to say that my family just loves O'Hanas....although my children call it "Hosanas"

I had the chance this past year to eat at Lady and Sons in Savannah, GA, my God, Paula Deen knows how to cook......we loved it and thought it was quite the place for good Southern home cooking.

When I was in VA, visiting friends, Hi SueEllen, we ate at this fun barbecue place called K & L, home cooking there too..

My fave restaurant in Boston in No. 9 Park.....Barbara Lynch is the chef there and self trained.......great Boston restaurant, pricey but worth it.

On Cape Cod, I love to eat at Cook's seafood in Mashpee and there are several fun restaurants in Mashpee Commons.....I love the Mashpee Tea Room, Siena for Italian, and in Waquoit, for home cooking, Moonakis Restaurant.

Yes! Actually I live in Norwalk. We own a small business there. If you're coming in on Rt. 250, you'll probably pass us!
