Hi everyone,

I am planning the next trip to WDW and was curious to know what everyone's favorite restaurant's are and why?

My last trip down ~ Jan/Feb 2004 we went to Whispering Canyon Cafe and it was hilarious!

I like it when the waiter's get involved with the people instead of just serving food.

I was wondering if there are any other restaurants where this is done?

One of my favorite resturants is Ohana at the Poly, the food is AWESOME! They serve you family style, all you can eat and it is sooo good! Shrimp, steak, sausage cooked on a open fire style grill-it is to die for-and the bring it to your table on these huge skewers. They also have games and what not for the kiddies. If you time it right you can see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

Another vote for 'Ohana. It's one of the 2 restaurants we have to go to when we do Disney. The other is the House of Blues. I like the theming, and the food is good, and not expensive.

Kungaloosh!
Morticia.

My family really likes the Crystal Palace.I am a Pooh lover and I just love the scenery when you get a table by the windows. With the three males in my family,it fills them right up.
I also love Cosmic Ray's.Nothing like eating your chicken with a little entertainment(brings back alot of childhood memories at WDW)

There's lots of great places for food in WDW but our all time fave is Chef Mickeys! It's loud and fun and has fantastic food!!! You can sing and dance and twirl napkins, and we're both in our thirties with no kids :p

We always try to book this very early in our trip, it really gets you in the Disney mood!

Another place for fun waiter interaction is the 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM. The table set up is a la 1950's mom's kitchen and the waiters are your "sisters" or "cousins" or "uncles" etc. and they act that way! Some servers are better than others!

There are so many good restaurants but this past trip we ended up at Prime Time! It was fun and the food was great!

We did have a CM that was new to the scene but she tried her best! She did bring our "Cousin" her salad topped with Whipped Cream for her desert!LOL You have to eat your vegetables or no desert! I hid mine but because I helped DD eat her's she let it slide!

We also like having breakfast at CP!

Thanks Everyone for your replies!

I am anxiously waiting for the 2005 Passporter to arrive so that I can get the plans down "officially". I like the idea of going to a resort or restaurant on the "off" days from the parks.

Last time I was there, I was over at the Poly but didn't realise that they had a good restaurant there, and with a 13year old boy in tow, all you can eat is good!

I had thought about 50's prime time cafe before, so Thanks for confirming that it is a good place to go.

Kellyla - I like the fact that the food is filling for males (again, my DS) did you find Crystal Palace very busy or have to wait long?

I have never considered Cosmic Rays before, but will from now on.

Chef Mickey's also sounds fun, Do you need reservations?

Now, I can't wait to get back and experience them all!!!

::yes::

As far as PS's are concerned, always better to have them!

Chef Mickey's a definate yes!

CP definately yes!

A PS is not a guaranteed reservation but a time that is allotted to you. Depending on what time of year, there could be no wait or a thirty+ minute wait!

We were lucky because originally DD wanted to eat at Sci-Fi but since she wasn't feeling good, I cancelled, then after she had a frozen coke, she started feeling better. We happened to be sitting by 50's Prime Time and I stupidly asked if she wanted to try to eat there! Magic ~ they had an opening!

But I think when you are a party of two it's easier to do walk ups!LOL

I have soooo many faves, but if you are looking for something really different, consider trying Boma over at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Authentic African food done buffet-style. They also have North American food for the picky eaters.

Fultons!

I *love* their australian lobster tails!. Ooooooh! 4 days till I have them! We're going Saturday night right after Cirque du Soleil! :D :D

I'm with Grover and voting for Ohana's :D and I will be there in 4 weeks and two days with Photobear Sam and Star Wars Man to celebrate my last day of being , ,not fifty.:earseek:

Number One ...Ohanas..We LOVED it!!!

Number two....Prime Time

Number Three...The Garden Grill

Number Four....Crystal Palace

Number Five...Donald's Breakfastauras

When you are at WDW all are fun....

Enjoy!!!

My two faves are Ohana's and Crystal Palace.

Boma is pretty nice too. The atmosphere at Coral Reef is nice but the portions are small and expensive!!!

Ohana's is really good. Great for the kids too and to see "Wishes" from.
It was our favourite until we tried Boma's at the AKL.
Now we have 2 restaurants that are a must when we are down at the World.

Thanks again Everyone!!!

I think that my next trip to WDW is going to be quite a different experience. With all the restaurant suggestions it seems that there are favorites that everybody has. I just may have to go to WDW every day to get to try all these neat places.::yes::

Your Favorites So Far:
Ohana's
Crystal Palace
Prime Time Cafe
Boma
Fulton's
CHef Mickey's
Cosmic Rays
House Of Blues
Garden Grill
Donald's Breakfastauras
Coral Reef

Thanks to your tips,I have decided to try and book Ohana's for a dinner to time it with "Wishes".

My next question:

What time is best for some of the others?
(B'fast, Lunch, Dinner for any of these)

and also

How Much should I allow in $ for 3 of us?
(Me, daughter (24), son (13))
Look forward to your replies.

For breakfast...both Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace for sure.

Havent done Boma for breakfast before, but hear it's superb.

Donald's Breakfastasauras is a good breakfast too.

House Of Blues is good for dinner or lunch.

Ohana's...definately at the time of Wishes. Book about 20-30 mins ahead of the shedualed time for Wishes to make sure you're there when it's on. :)

I will be going with two kids that LOVE anything Dolphin or sea like. The Coral Reef seems an obvious choice but we are on a tight budget. Can anyone tell me what to expect? The kids are picky eaters but I thought maybe we'd go just for appetizers and desserts or something so they could soak in the atmosphere. Suggestions?:hyper: Bueller? Bueller?

As wenabre said...We will be at O'Hana's and we LOVE IT!!!

It will be even better sharing it with a fellow DISer...

We also love CRT breakfast and Tangerine Cafe.:earboy2: Yummy!!!
