What's your favorite movie you think most people haven't seen?

A few other "obscure" movies (or at least not uberpopular):

Rounders - Always makes me wanna play poker

Failsafe - A movie from 1964 starting Henry Fonda and Walter Matthau...Kind of a more serious Dr. Strangelove, with an incredible plot twist at the end. There was a crappy TV remake of this movie out a couple years ago that didn't come close to doing it justice.

Inherit the Wind - From 1960 starring Spencer Tracy as Clarence Darrow and Frederic March as William Jennings Bryan. The movie (based on the play) is a slightly fictionalized telling of the events surrounding the "Scopes Monkey Trial" that first allowed the teaching of evolution in schools. Interesting subject matter, but just incredible performances by Tracy and March.

I typically can't stand "classic" movies, but those last two are among the best I've ever seen, regardless of when they were released.

The Freshman is great.

Definitely have to go with Ed Wood, starring my husband. So quirky. So cool.

And then there's Overboard.

But you know my favorite is Sixteen Candles.

I'm going to a dance.

Lake Placid!

It stars Bridget Fonda, Bill Pulman, Betty White, Oliver Platt and one VERY big crocodile in it, very funny.

My very favorite is Valley Girl, it had Nicolas Cage in it!

I also liked The Shag. Since we are going to Myrtle in June, I think I will have to go see if I can find it at the video store. I wonder if any of them have it?

I'm excited now, I really want to see that again!

didn't see this...but I always though Christina Ricci was at her finest (trashiest) in "The Opposite of Sex"

Milagro Beanfield War!!
Directed by Robert Redford. Starred - Sonya Braga, Daniel Stern, and a lot of other people were in it: Melanie Griffith. Freddie Prinze etc.
Great movie!
I grew up in New Mexico and felt like I knew and loved every one of these people in my life.

Home for the Holidays--our family tradition is to watch this movie every Thanksgiving.

Anyone else like this one? I laugh so hard every time I see the little old man on the motorcycle--I watch it whenever I need to be cheered up!

CLIFFORD from 1994. Martin Short plays a ten year old boy who causes tons of trouble. Charles Grodin and Mary Steenburgen are also in it. Most people who have actually seen this movie think it's stupid, but I find it to be hysterical.

Oh good! I'm the first one to post "A Simple Twist of Fate". Starring Steve Martin as grouchy-type hermit who ends up adopting a little girl and raising her. It's not my favorite movie (how could I pick just one), but it's really good.
