Since the weather is getting nice around here I've put grilled chicken on the menu for this week. It's been quite a while since I've made grilled chicken and when I have, it was usually with a bottled marinade. I can't remember if I've ever made my own.

Want to share your favorite homemade marinade? And I also wouldn't mind you sharing your favorite bottled marinades either.

My easy chicken marinade is a bottle of italian or sun dried tomato salad dressing. If I don't have one on hand, i'll blend olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Thanks for the reminder about this, I agree that italian dressing is a good and easy marinade! My sister in-law suggested it once, the results were good. ::yes::

I don't marinate my chicken, I put a rub on it. Grill Mates Maple Smokehouse Maple. Very simple and tastes great. First rub a little virgin olive oil then rub as much or as little of the rub as you would like. Repeat on other side. You can grill right away.

This! I'm also fond of a Coriander or Ginger flavoured chicken. :)

My favorite/go-to for chicken is equal parts lemon juice and soy sauce - that's it. Marinate it at least a few hours :)

This is an old family recipe used on chicken and flank steak on the grill.

1 cup oil of your choice

2/3 cup lemon juice

1/2 cup soy sauce. I prefer the cheap Americanized stuff like La Choy.

1/8 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp oregano

1/4 tsp pepper

Marinate at least 4 hours.

I make our favorite marinade with:
1 part olive oil
2 parts soy sauce
2 parts honey
pepper
garlic

It's best if you can marinate the chicken for at least 6 hours or so. It's a good marinade for vegetables you're going to grill, too. We like skewers of zucchini and mushrooms. Sometimes we add pineapple cubes. I save the marinade from the vegetables to brush onto the chicken while it cooks.

I love a little olive oil, fresh lemon juice, garlic, and an herb or 2. maybe some thyme or tarragon. so easy, fresh, and yummy!

I've been getting tired of the "same old". I'm looking forward to trying some of these!

I either use a mix of Italian dressing and worcestershire sauce or a mix of bottled herb and garlic marinade and pesto.

Teriyaki marinade my parents used.

1 cup soy sauce
2 cups water
Chopped onion
Fresh garlic
Grated fresh ginger
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
The ginger I do by taste/smell. Also before adding the chicken, taste to see if more water is needed. Also this works best bone-in chicken.

Marinate the chicken 24 to 48 hours. DH smokes it.

I used Lowry's Mesquite Marinade.

Then, I baste the chicken (several times while it cooks) with a concoction of:

Fresh lime juice
fajita seasoning (lots)
Cholula Hot Sauce (couple dashes)
Tequilla (about a shot)
