dh and i just bought dvc through resale and got 198 extra banked points that need to be used by june 2011. tough problem to have, right?

our first trip home will be sept 19-26 BWV garden view studio. our second trip will be dec. 5-11 SSR studio and our third trip will be treehouse villas jan 23-29 with my aunt, uncle, and their three kids! awesome!!!

i booked SSR for dec since it's my home resort but the 7 month window will come up on wednesday so i'm thinking of switching..well, trying to switch.

which resort is decorated the best for the holidays?

any chance we'll be able to get a studio at the 7 month window someplace else??

thanks!

:thumbsup2 Any place is great at WDW for December....but I think the general consensus is that WLV has the best decoration for most DVCers. It is a small resort and it will be unlikely that you can get a studio at 7 months---but I sure would enjoy trying. We will be at AKV 12/01-12/10.

Enjoy your trips. :cloud9:

Even owners of other DVCs will admit that nothing beats VWL at Christmastime. I can't wait!!!!:santa:

We alternate December visits at VWL and BWV. Really, it's a great time to visit all of the resorts to check out the decorations!

While BWV is nice at Christmas, nothing beats VWL. We did VWL last year and it was great. Right now we've got AKV this year and I've heard the lobby is almost as nice as VWL for Christmas (at least has a huge tree like VWL.) I was able to get VWL at the 7 month window last year (with a little waitlisting here and there) so it IS possible. Best of luck.

AKV Jambo is amazing during Christmas. I also loooovvvvve visiting BWV for Christmas because the decorations are just absolute eye-candy.:wizard: BLT was a really fun base for Christmas because you have so many awesome resorts with great Christmas decor to visit on the monorail and in the MK area, plus nothing beats seeing the Castle all lit up every night and holiday wishes lighting up the sky with the music playing in the lobby or TOWL or if you have an MK view, from your room. It's all wonderful.:cloud9:

All the Disney hotels are decorated just so beautifully during Christmas-time! Each one maintains their unique theme, and is just made up so appropriately! This past Christmas was our first time ever and we have already booked another Christmas stay! It was the BEST ever. Those Osbourne Lights were AMAZING! Can't wait, again! :tinker:

The truth is, DVC doesn't do much decorating for the holidays. The Deluxe resorts do, so staying at a co-located resort will have the best decorations.

BCV, BWV, and VWL are our favorites. SSR , OKW, and Kidani our least. Jambo and BLT in the middle.

You got WLV for Xmas and don't own there? Very, very lucky!!! We are staying there in June and I know the family will discuss how
nice it would be to do a holiday trip there. We own at BWV and I always assumed the only way to get a 2BR at WLV at Xmas would be to trade with an owner there (hoping to find one who would like to try BWV at the same time.

We are just excited about being at Disney during Christmas Dec 11-19::santa: We own and are staying at BLT our first visit since purchasing DVC. We plan to visit the other resorts that we hear are a sight to see. We are excited about BLT though because we are right on the monorail and walking distance to MK were DD (6) likes to spend the majority of the time.:cheer2:

Kids loves being at disney during Christmas also teens. In fact my cousins choose to be at the disneyland than to any resort.

I agree with many of the others, Fort Wilderness is wonderful at Christmas time. We stay at BLT but we have to visit there. We also love to visit the Grand Floridian as it is beautifully decorated as well. They also have wonderful musicians.

Check out the Yacht Club decorations if you are staying at an Epcot resort, beautiful themed tree.

Thanks for all the replies! I think on Wednesday when I'm within the 7 month window I will call to see what's available. Look like VWL is a longshot. Heck, probably every resort is a longshot for second week of December!

Also the ski village and train set up. It's one of our "must sees" each December!

I love VWL - period.

When you approach the resort, remember that one of the great American architects created WL - the late Peter Dominick.

At Christmas time, its just icing on the cake.

It's not for everybody, but for those that it is for, it is an amazing experience and truly home at the end of a long day or easy day. It's a great friend to come back to again and again.

Last year we visited during the Christmas season and I was disappointed in Wilderness Lodge. I had seen it years ago and they have gotten new decorations and they are just not as spectacular as they used to be.

I found the Beach Club to be the most beautifully decorated followed by BWV. I doubt you will find VWL, BCV, or BWV at 7 months though during that time frame.

Regardess of where you stay you can always visit to see the deocrations, definitely go to the Grand Floridian and other resorts. I found the trees in the lobby of Saratoga Springs to be some of my favorites.
