Only a few more days until we head out to the "world" just hubby and I....we are over the moon excited. We only had about 4 wks to plan and I have not had much luck making ADR's. We will be in the parks 5 evenings and I really wanted a reservation for each night but no luck....so which Counter Service (no reservation place) would you suggest for dinner at:

Hollywood Studios
Epcot
Magic Kingdom

We like all types of food except Asian.

We already will be eating at San Angel in Epcot, Concourse Steakhouse at the Contmporary Resort, and the restaurant in Norway in Epcot.

Thanks for your ideas!

OK...here are my top choices for CS meals...

MK - Cosmic Rays- it's big and it has lots of choices...it can be quite crowded at times but it moves pretty fast.

EPCOT - Yorkshire County Fish Shop (UK)-Awesome fish and chips!

DHS - Either Flatbread Grill or ABC Commissary-both offer some good choices for a decent price.

...that's my .02 anyway :thumbsup2

I've enjoyed these in the past...

Hollywood Studios - ABC Commissary
Epcot - Electric Umbrella, Garden Grill, Lotus Blosson Cafe(China)
MK - Pecos Bill

I think one of the best CS is the Columbia Harbor House in MK - they have the BEST tunafish sandwiches!!

Epcot I like the Sunshine Seasons for their variety and DHS is ABC Comm., although the food isn't as good as it was a few years ago... :goodvibes

Also, I would consider doing table service for lunch. You may have better luck with ressies that way and it's cheaper and less crowded. Many offer the same items as dinner. Keep calling back; because, there are cancellations and you may get in that way, too.

For counter service at Disney Hollywood I like ABC because it's inside and you can sit and there's a varied menu. For Epcot my favorites are Sunshine Seasons and Morrocco. For MK Cosmic Ray is tops for me.

Here's mine :goodvibes

MK - Pecos Bill

HS - Toy Story Pizza Planet

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (really like the sushi)

I love most of the Disney CS restaurants, there's such great variety.

Ditto on Pecos Bill's!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the condiment bar!! Any place that has all you can eat pickles rates high on my list!!

Did you try the Plaza Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom for a table service? Our favorite Counter Services are:

Magic Kingdom -- Columbia Harbour House or Pinocchio Village Haus
Epcot -- Sunshine Seaons or Yorkshire County Fish Shop
Hollywood Studios -- if we have to, we will go to Backlot Express...otherwise we go to one of the resorts for Counter Service
Animal Kingdom -- Flame Tree Barbecue

We do not like any of the pizza at Disney--it reminds us of Dominos which is really sad. :rotfl:

I like Cosmic Rays - his cheesy jokes are, aside from being cheesy, kind of fun.

MK - Casey's Corner for a good hot dog and fries....

I love hot dogs.... not fancy... but def. yummy!

CHH and Pecos Bills for MK

Lotus Blossum is our fave for Epcot, but since you don't like Asian, our second fave is Yorkshire Fish & Chips.

MGM/DHS-you know we never eat counter service there. We always eat at WS then mosey over there, or leave MGM and go eat at WS. If we do eat in MGM, it's a table service. (Mama Melrose, SciFi, Brown Derby places we like to visit)

MK - El Pirata Y el Perico Restaurante
EPCOT - The Mexican CS place in the walkway outside of Mexico
DHS - Ummm... ???
AK - Flame Tree

This post took some thought because I enjoy many of the locations listed already. But here are my first choices.

MK: Columbia House...I consider this a hidden gem for getting a quick lunch.

EPCOT: Food court at the Land Pavillion.

Studios: Backlot Express

Epcot: The counter service restaurant in Morocco

DITTO! I loved Tangierine Cafe, best meal (counter or TS) in WDW!

Vegetarian Platter

Ditto on these as well - below is the Anchors Aweigh sandwich at CHH in MK (premium tuna sandwich on 5-grain bread), and the Veggie Platter at Sunshine Seasons in The Land at Epcot (lo mein, white rice & steamed veggies). Both were excellent! The secret at CHH is to eat upstairs - it's always empty - and you have a nice view of HM & the Steam Boat if you sit by a window.
