What's your favorite comfort food?

Yesterday was the first cool day we've had so far this Fall. It put me into the mood to make some major comfort food for dinner, including buttery mashed potatoes, homemade biscuits, and a made-from-scratch chocolate cake for dessert. What are your favorite comfort foods?

cooking sauce all day on the stove....the other thing is a turkey stuffed with my stuffing...oh boy I could eat that right now too

Pastina in Lipton noodle soup with a little pat of butter.

When DS was little, I used to cook that, put a pat of butter on it, and he would gobble it up!

My comfort foods:

Pasta
Beef stew
Meatloaf with mashed potatoes

Wow I was thinking Pastina too!! My Mom used to make it in chicken broth for me when I was sick. Yikes a bunch of Italian girls here.

Another one is spaghetti. I make my sauce just like my Mom's.

Can someone tell me what Pastina is? My favorite comfort food is grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken noodle soup with egg noodles added.

Pastina refers to pretty much any small pasta -- traditionally, it's a small round pasta (like acini de pepe or rosa marina).

I'm a chicken noodle soup person myself.

Hey Helenabear! I said that same thing buy my post didn't go through. I also said a tall glass of ice cold skim milk to go with it.

And -- warm from the oven chocolate meringue pie!
