We have only been here for 6 months. My husband is in the AF and we just got stationed here. He's in Korea right now so when my daughter and I get bored we go to B&N for hours. They just opened a Starbucks in Riverdale.

Sorry to hear your husband is in Korea. I know we have many servicemen/women in the Middle East right now but sometimes people forget there are troops sent all over the world that must leave their families behind. During my DH's 20-year career (also AF) we endured many separations -- one of which was a year in Korea, as well!

We haven't lived in Utah for three years now but still have many friends and neighbors we keep in touch with. There are times I still crave a "Crown Burger".

Have fun @ B&N (and Starbucks)!!!

Venti low temp non fat latte!!!!
what's a "triple?"

While they do have many Starbuck's in Japan, they don't really do decaf anything here. I went in twice and ordered a decaf "something" and while they will make it, it's a MAJOR production because they all but have to decaffeinate the beans first, then make my order! So I've quit going...sad.

Venti Non-Fat Latte for me. Either Hot or Iced, depends on the weather.

I was waiting for someone to write this cause I wasn't gonna attempt to spell Macchiato on my own. Hee hee.
I get mine regular and I only drink half cause I feel guilty about all the calories!!!

Can you believe there are no Starbucks near me?!? The Horrors! :scared1: But we are getting a Barnes & Noble so maybe one will come then. I feel so left out!

I love their White Chocolate Mochas, but had to give them up! We have a kiosk at work and can have the cost deducted from our paychecks.

Well....let's just say I wasn't happy with the amount being taken out! I was drinking way too many of them, LOL!

So now I only have one a week!

Why aren't there a lot of coffee drinkers in Utah?

Because Utah has a very high Latter-day Saints (Mormon) population, which forbids consumption of caffienated beverages.

I have a Starbucks on the first floor of my building. I have to say, I used to be somewhat anti-Starbucks, just because of the whole "Starbucks is taking over the world" phenomenon, but you know what? They make a damn good cup of coffee, and deserve all the corporate success they've had.

I get a Venti dark roast every morning on my way in to work. My favorite roast is the Venetian; my least favorite is the Suwali (sp?). It has a sour aftertaste to me.

My favorite "treat" is, hands down, the Gingerbread Latte. I was a hard sell for it--I'm generally a "coffee purist" and want my coffee to taste like COFFEE. But this little treasure isn't coffee--its dessert. Yum! I can't wait until it comes back.

Has anyone here tried the new Kona beans they have? $35 per pound! Holy Cow!! I'm dying to know what it's like, but I'm too much of a cheapskate to spring for it.

I don't have a favourite anything at Starbucks, we don't like Starbucks coffee:(
I don't care for their coffee either. Way too strong for me! But a flavored latte is delicious! Nice surprise! :)

I have the B&N membership also and I was probably on my way to making up the $25 membership fee till the "real" starbucks opened up. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to make sure I buy more books to compensate. ;)
LOLOLOLOL! :teeth:

I thought it might have something to do with the mormon population. Bummer for them!

That's true! If I don't get my caffeine before 11, I get a killer headache. :(
