What's your dress code at work?

Shoes must have backs, skirts, slacks, and casual pants are okay and our tops can't have spaghetti straps. Jeans only on Friday. I'm a paraeducator and this dress code is for all teachers and paraeducators.

When I work for my dad it's jeans and t-shirts; the older the better. Lots of equipment, dust, grease, etc to get you pretty dirty, but for safety reasons, must wear pants rather than shorts, and short sleeves rather than tank tops, even though the shop has no A/C (yeah summers working for him are fun...) If I'm just doing office work for him though, anything goes
This summer (and will be a couple weekends this fall, winter break, spring break, etc), I worked retail, in a department store. The store transitioned to a different this summer, so the dress code changed right before I came back to school. When I started working there it was business casual, I guess. Basically the only thing enforced was no jeans and no super casual shirts. That being said I was always in black pants and a decent top (polo type or something else nice). Under the new dress code men must wear suits and ties, and women must wear either black pants or a black skirt. If you're wearing black pants you must wear a black blazer. If you're wearing a black skirt you can wear either a black sweater (cardigan type) or black blazer. I believe you have to wear black shoes too. You can wear any color shirt under the blazer or sweater though, thankfully. The day the dress code changed we all joked that we were going to the funeral of the old store. And yes, we have to wear blazers in the middle of the summer, despite the aging, and well...crappy, air conditioning system

Shoes must have backs,

OMG I could never work there. The only shoes I own with backs are running shoes and boots! I'm a big clog/mule fan.

No real dress code here. If I don't have a meeting I often wear jeans. I do lots of public speaking so those are usually suit days. Heck some days I wear jeans and a suit on the same day. I run a small-ish non-profit so when we have events we are often arranging furnitire, decorating, etc. then after a quick change, schmoozing mega donors. Never a dull moment!

As long as I show up no one cares what I am wearing.......The office staff wears jeans, slacks, t's, tanks etc. I am a capri & flip flop kinda girl and wear them all summer. We are pretty casual, although I am the only one who wears makeup, does my hair and is dressed nicely on a daily basis. Most of the staff, mainly the girls come in looking like they just rolled out of bed and I think they did

I get to wear a uniform (nurse). :) All polyester - dries fast, irons nicely. Loose fitting, wildly comfortable, and never think about what I'm wearing. LOVE it!

Only problem is now we have to wear white all the time and it is a little boring. I think a little color makes everything more cheerful. But I LOVE a uniform for work. :teeth:

I am a pharmacist, but I don't wear the traditional pharmacist uniform - i do not wear a lab coat, and never wear a tie. I usually wear a collared shirt with casual pants, but sometimes I will wear a polo shirt. The store I work at is not part of a chain, so no official dress code. I used to work for a large national chain and it was shirt and tie with the labcoat and no exceptions!

Anything I want. Some days its shorts and a tee, occasionally my bikini. Once in a great while it's what I wore to bed. But always...it's heavy bottomed shoes. :teeth:

My husband works for a large medical facility. Men must wear suits with a tie, except for research labs. Women must wear skirts that hit just above the knee or longer. Suit jackets preferred. Pants may be worn with suit jacket or sweater or blouse.
Each department has to supply their own scrubs (except surgery) and each department has a color that must be adhered to.
There is no clothing allowance, but they pay very well and have excellent health benefits. ;)

We have everything from jeans/shorts and t-shirts to suits. It depends on what department you work in. :)

Teacher.....I can wear pretty much anything except shorts. Anything else is ok.

Jeans and t-shirts or a dressier shirt are the norm in our office. I am also a capri's and flip flop type of gal so that is what I wear most of the summer. It's going to be hard for me to adjust to wearing "real" shoes in the winter. Our clothes are supposed to be ironed and neat looking but we don't have an official dress code. That may be changing though because we have a girl in the office who keeps insisting on pushing the limits. She wears very low cut blouses and the kind of jeans that have holes all over the place. I know she must have paid a fortune for those jeans but she's already been told several times not to wear them to work anymore. The office manager finally told her last Friday that if she wore them again, she would get a written warning.

BTW, I work in accounts payable at a chemical/plastics plant.
