What's your dress code at work?

Since the general manager of our company resigned a couple of months ago, the President has jumped in now and enforced a stricker dress code. Being in the funeral business you have to look decent. Men have always been required to wear suits, now women are. It used to be were able to wear dresses, but now it's strickly suits. Luckily we're getting a clothing allowance of only $120. I purchased a nice gray suit last week from Kohls. I fell in love with one at Ann Taylor, but it was well over $300. I hope the President of the company I work for knows you can't get good quality for under $300. Anything under that is OK.
 
About the only things forbidden where I work is swimwear, sweatpants, tank tops, short shorts (they have to be knee length), and flip flops. The most dressed down I ever get though is jeans and a nice top.
 
We have a "Business Casual" dress code. However, my office is about 75 miles from the main office and there are only 3 of us. So, flip flops are ok. I usually do slacks during the week or capris and a top. I can do sleeveless and often due for the summer.
 
We can wear just about anything. My usual uniform is jeans, black Chuck Taylors, and a black concert or band t-shirt.
 

I work from home mostly, so anything goes, but when I go in it's business casual.Absolutley NO DENIM. No tattoos visible, close toed shoes, one set of earrings, that sort of thing. I would't know how to select a suit if you put a gun to my head :confused3
 
Our dress code was recently altered as well. We used to be casual - jeans and collared shirts.

Now, we have to wear Docker-style pants and a collared shirt Monday through Thursday, with jeans being acceptable on Fridays.
 
Business Casual for us...with "jeans day" on payday Friday (every other Friday). No flip flops, tank tops, spandex, shorts, or tube tops -- EVER!!! But some still feel the need to "push it to the limit". There is no accounting for good taste or common sense! :confused3
 
no jeans - jean skirt, jean skort are okay
no sneakers
no shorts - unless wearing the Summer Reading Program tshirt
 
I wear dresses/skirts with sweaters/suits during the warmer months and dress pants with sweaters or jackets during the winter. Jeans are allowed every Friday--which I love.

It's kind of weird--the administrators and office staff are usually dressed pretty professionally--student employees and part-time staff are more casual (jeans, etc.) and instructors run the gamut between dressed up and dressed down.
 
We can wear no denim, corduroy, capris, shorts, T-shirts etc. Dress slacks, blouses, sweaters, suits, and dresses would all be fine as long as they don't look like "club" attire.
 
Pretty much anything I want. I work in a very casual office, and rarely see customers. Today I have on jeans, a tshirt. During the summer I wear shorts. If you wear nice clothes you risk ruining them on shop equipment.
 
Pretty much anything but lingerie. ;) My big poofy Pluto slippers live here at the office. :thumbsup2
 
Here are two places to get good suits at a decent price:

1. If you have a Kaspar store near you, you can get suits from $99.00-$150. All very nice.

2. Go to Marshall's. I was just there yesterday and they are CHOCK FULL of suits for fall. Most of them are grey, navy, and black. They run about $100 (some higher, some a tad bit lower). They are mainly Jones New York, Kaspar, Le Suit, some Tahari, etc. I have bought these brands and have been wearing them for years.
 
We are business casual. Although I have never seen anything in writing what is officially permitted and what is not typically men wear docker type pants and golf short or other casual shirt. Women wear, dresses, dress pants, capris, skirts, nice tops. We can wear dressy sandal type flip flops but nothing too casual. Two depts have casual Fri and wear jeans and my dept will join them :) occasionally.
 
The only thing I can't wear to work is a bikini or my underwear as outerwear. Seriously, it's in the staff manual. I also can't be barefoot.

I normally wear nicer jeans and a t-shirt or sweater. Some of my co-workers wear nice dresses. I've noticed those closer to my age dress like I do and the older generation tends to dress up a bit more.

I'm a librarian, for those interested.

Disneyland1084 Check out Macys for suits. In my previous job life I had to wear suits and Macys runs some great sales. I've never paid more than $75 for a suit and these are suits that are normally in the $200 - $400 range. They are really nice, classic suits and are brands like Tahari, Kasper, Liz Claiborne, Alfani, etc. Yay for end-of-season clearance and President's Day sales!

Target also has some suiting for around $30 or $40 a piece. I don't know what the quality is like and some of the cuts seem a bit trendy, but you can't beat the price!
 
Work in the IT Department for a large bank.
Business Dress (Dress Shirt, Slacks, Dress Shoes, Tie, maybe a coat) is the norm; Fridays can be Business Casual (no tie, polo shirt, etc.); if we're going to be doing some dirty work ;) then we can wear jeans, tshirts, and tennis shoes.
 
We don't have a dress code. There's 3 of us and we don't really deal with our customers face to face. In the summer we wear shorts alot. We wear jeans, t shirts whatever. Sometimes I wear capris or walking shorts but never anything too dressy.
 
Business casual - no jeans. Capris, sleeveless shirts, dressy flip-flops all OK. No graphic T-shirts, shorts or jeans. On an occassional Friday we might wear jeans, but we still have to keep the top looking decent - although I have been known to wear a Disney t-shirt or football team t-shirt and tennies.
 
Scrubs. Pretty much like going to work in your jammies.

If I ever get a job where I have to wear real clothes, I don't know what I'll do!!!
