What's your costume for MNSSHP??

We are a family of three going to MNSSHP on 10/19 and I am hoping to do a family themed costume. Hope I can talk DH into dressing up. I am curious as to what other families are doing or have done in the past. Is it typical for the grown-ups to dress in costume? This is a first for us and I am really looking forward to the party!

Our family of 3 went to the MNSSHP in 2001 -- had a BLAST! DS did not know we were going so I hid our costumes (which were no big deal - but a lot of people liked them)

I went to Wal Mart and bought 3 long sleeve orange t-shirts (or you could use sweat shirts) and then I bought 3 packages of the felt with the sticky back.

The afternoon of the party we came back to the camper early and that is when I pulled out our tickets and the shirts. Each one of us made our own costume. A jack-o-lantern face.

We just cut out the shapes for the eyes, nose and mouth - peeled the back off and stuck them to the t-shirts. We were all alike but still each of us was different.

Matter of fact, I still have those shirts - we wore them again last year. To bad we weren't at MNSSHP.

I'm glad you asked this question; I've been wondering the same thing myself. We're a party of five adults, but would like to have a little fun with the costume thing.

BTW, wear your lime green proudly. We'll be at MNSSHP on the 19th, too!!!

Last year was the first time my mother and I decided to dress up. Usually it is just DD that dresses up. My mom was a sports fan with all the clothing to match. I borrowed a real doctor scrubset from my neighbor who is a nurse. I had a blast with that costume. Everyone came up to me all night telling me their problems! All in jest of course! I might be the doctor again as it was a lot of fun.

What are we going to go as for Halloween!
(and do adults really dress up?...) We received our tickets yesterday, it only took them 4 days to process them and post them over, I am amazed by this! My DH really wants to dress up and I am going along for the ride!
I think he has finalised the whole Bram Stoker's Dracula (the film) Victorian vampire look with top hat and frock coat and round glasses, which leaves me very little choice but to go as Mina, Dracula's immortal beloved, or any Victorian vampire wench will do nicely.
i would love to hear what everyone else is going dressed up as! and who will be there on the 30th and Halloween night!

Can't go this year, but last year we had a blast!!
My dd 14 dressed up as the evil queen from snow white, and my dd 25 went as a butterfly. The grandbabies , gd 5 was Jesse and gs3 was Woody. SIL didn't plan on attending but did eventually decide to join us but hadn't prepared a costume.. so he shaved his head, colored his beard white, wore white tee shirt with blue bib, white panty hose and a rather large diaper.. what a hoot!!

Two years ago I made my daughter a Cinderella dress - the fabric alone cost OVER $200! And she hasn't outgrown it... so she'll be wearing it to the party on the 31st.

I'm thinking about going as a piece of Candy Corn, but will probably end up just wearing a Halloween themed shirt!

Last year, I was Maleficent, and DS was Sorcerer Mickey!

I think the most imaginative costumes we saw was the family dressed as the "four parks". They each had a hat with the icon from a different park on it-Epcot, MK, Studios and AK! Too Cute!

We went last year with an Alice in Wonderland theme. My DD (11) went as Alice, my DD (15) went as the Red Queen, her friend went as the Cheshire Cat, and I went as a deck of cards. (A tunic with a large spade on the back and two spades on the front)

We had a great time and lots of adults were dressed up too. We went to the Grand Floridian for afternoon tea before we headed to the party. The waiters didn't blink an eye as they welcomed "Alice" and her friends to tea!

It was worth the time and effort to have a theme.

That's a cute idea! I wanted to be Alice last year, but couldn't find an adult costume I ended up being Mulan and DS was the Alien from Toy Story and Captain Hook (we went twice). He got so many compliments on the Captain Hook costume, he looked so cute!! (the pic is in my sig). We took his hat to the hat shop in the MK and they put "Captain Nicholas" on it (not in the pic) and used some eyeliner to draw on a moustache. This year I have a few kids costumes I got at a great price at TDS, including a Donald Duck one, but it looks huge, so maybe I can wear that one hehe.

A great place to look for costumes is Ebay. It took a couple of months, but a Cheshire Cat costume (from Disney) finally showed up on Ebay. I only paid $11 for it. I also got the deck of cards costume from Ebay.

Last year my DD10 went as a dalmation and I was Cruella - my favorite villain! I bought white sweatpants and sweatshirt with hood and put black spots on them to make the dalmation costume. I had a Cruella wig, and I bought a fur remnant at the fabric store.

During the parade the dog catchers with Cruella came over and netted my dalmation! Then Cruella came over and we got pics with her!

We had a blast. Only problem was the heat - it was a warm night for what we were wearing.

We haven't decided yet what we'll be this year, but we are definintely looking forward to the party again. So much so, that we are going twice - the 14th and 16th!!!
