2 moms looking for something special to do while family plays golf

Maybe I'm a little late but you can book a spa day at the Grand Floridian spa đź’…

Try one of the backstage tours at Animal Kingdom. Caring for Giants and Up Close with Rhinos are about $50/person and last about an hour. The Wild Africa Trek is also a treat, but it is 3 hours, includes a light snack, and it costs about $220/person so I wouldn't classify it as "budget-friendly".

Some golf courses allow for non-playing companions to ride along while many do not. Be sure to check ahead with the pro shop when making your tee times to avoid an issue when you show up and find it isn't permitted. Many golf courses do not allow non-playing companions since people would try to 'game' the greens fees and once out of sight of the clubhouse, the non-playing companion could play for free. It also means each group would tie up twice as many golf carts which can be an issue on busy courses where every cart will already be in use during peak times.
