What's your attitude about making ADRs 6 mos out.

Thank you so much for thinking of me! I switched today. Got the 2 room ressie with free dining at POR! Have to get with DD to get all wishes lined up and then we are going to divide and conquer hopefully in getting some ADRs lined up that all 6 of us can be happy with. I so appreciate the heads up on the info. I had just completely missed it. THANK YOU AGAIN

I'm so thrilled that it worked out for you! Especially because you're doing a bigger group--you'll have so much fun. It just broke my heart last year to hear about people who were there and had paid for the DDP just because they didn't know. And even if they didn't buy the DDP, knowing that they could have had it for free just for asking just killed me. The only thing worse were those people who found out about it--too late to book it.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for good ADR's for you. Remember, it's free, so take some late lunches if you have to. Any ADR is better than no ADR.

Well I feel like I have hit the lottery. Called today and not only got Hoop De Doo, but also scored Cinderella's Royal Table and I never thought that would happen. DD was DGD is 4 and a Princess Freak. We are so excited. Don't know how the boys will feel about it, but I am sure they will have fun too. DS, 10 might think just getting inside the castle will be cool enough. I feel like I should buy a lottery ticket with how lucky I feel right now.

You go, girl! (Or guy--I just assumed girl.) You know, I'm almost more excited for you than for me right now. It's so amazing when you have everything planned out, then something like free dining falls into your lap. That's exactly how we felt last year (we found out about it and booked the same day--which happened to be the last day for booking free DDP). That's I why I got a Disney VISA and was on the phone at 4 am (my time--7 am ET) one Monday in April to book our free dining trip for this year.

Forgot to mention--we'll be checking in the same day as you, albeit at POFQ, but maybe we'll run into you around the pool(s) or on the busses or boat to DTD or something. Have a magical vacation!

I love to make ADRs at 180 days - big planner here. I do all the planning for family.

My opinion is. I don't see a problem with it. I basically know what resteraunts I would like to dine in. I look at the menu' to see potential add on's and just make my reservations. I don't see honestly how it is so hard for so many people. But, maybe that is because, I like to plan. So, different strokes, for different folks.

Count me in here as well. If I want to eat where I want to eat and when I want to eat, I make my ADR's at the earliest possible time. That way, I have a great chance at getting what I want.

I'm all about making ressie's 6 months out- I just love to plan. Dh and I usually pick our restaurants for vacation before we pick a hotel, not just for WDW. Between the DDP and ADR's, I'm happier than a pig in slop.

It was a bit daunting last year when I had never made any ADR's further ahead than a couple of days but after reading the horror stories on here about folks not being to find a place to eat at I bit the bullet.

I think I did pretty well in that I planned our agenda and then chose eating places that were in the vincinity of where we were planning to be.

There were a few times when we were not hungry or had to change plans slightly but it was helpful to have an ADR for SOMEWHERE otherwise we might not have had a nice place to eat a couple of nights. I could call and juggle times a bit here and there sometimes and even walk up at the last minute or early occasionally.

It was a good thing to have a safety net though.

The only tweak I did this time was that I did not pre plan any CS meals. Since we have eaten at most of them already we know what is where and the meals are not all that different enough to walk long distances or drive to get to most of them.
