What's you longest wait?

At the California Grill it was a Saturday night and the ADR was for 8:00. Should have added that we had to stand the entire time because there were no seats at the bar or in the lounge!!

We had to wait 30 minutes for Cali Grill. It was a Sunday evening (7 p.m.) and the place was packed. There were no seats and the bar/lounge was packed as well. So we just stood there in the area in front of where the elevators let you out trying to stay out of everyone's way. I noticed when we left that there were even more people standing around in front of the elevators waiting for tables.

But...it was the best meal of our trip!!!!

California Grill, in 2003 or 2004. The wait was about an hour and a half after our PS (they were PS's at the time, not ADR's). This was before they restricted the restaurant to people dining there, and not just going to check out the view/fireworks. The waiting area was crammed, and the bar area was full. We stood with our backs against the wall for over an hour, until a bar stool became available, and then, our table was ready. It ended up being a good meal - if it wasn't, I would have been frustrated. :confused3

The only time we've ever waited more than a few minutes was at Boma, were their abysmal service wasted about 45 minutes of our time.

We arrived 10 minutes before our ADR time and the rather surly woman at the check in desk insisted that my reservation was for 5 people and was for 1 hour later than I was stating. I politely explained that the reservation she was referring to could not possibly be ours as it was just DH and I & gave her the confirmation # the AKL concierge provided us with when they made the ADR for the present time. She sniffed haughtily and waved us off telling us to have a seat.

I assumed she was going to work through the confusion and get to us shortly but, after waiting for 20 minutes while others who arrived after us were seated, I finally walked all the way back to our room to retrieve the printed confirmation with all the info (quite a hike at AKL). Only after I presented this written proof to another individual at the check in desk and politely (albeit slightly more insistently) asked them to double check the reservations did they finally do the minute's worth of research required to determine that the first woman was indeed mistaken (our reservation and the one she thought was us were the same last name but both were clearly in the reservations roster at different times).

We were then seated and not only did we never receive an apology for the inconvenience, but they acted as though we were completely out of line for questioning them on the matter. I left wishing I had given them a piece of my mind instead of being so polite about the whole issue :furious:

We had ADR at the resturant at POR for breakfast.
We checked in 20 minutes early. Waited 30 min -Checked with hostess who told us we would be seated soon. Waited another 45 minutes checked again -again told would be soon. We gave up and went to the food court.

I never waited that long at any of the park restuarants.
:confused3

:scared1: OH, MY HEART!! :faint:

After waiting 1 hour & 30 minutes at Boma, the last time we went we decided to make an ADR for 6:10 PM. We wanted to see how long we would have waited if we made it an hour earlier. We had checked in & I think 10 minutes later our pager went off, so our table was ready & the hour made a difference in terms of waiting for our table & this was in December a few days before Christmas.

Although the Hostess denied this, I KNOW that they "missed" us somehow for our Whispering Canyon dinner.

We waited.....almost 1 1/2 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!! We asked about it MANY, MANY times and finally got fed up, asked to see the Manager, he came to the podium, looked into the problem and found, of course, a "new Staff" boo-boo! He had us seated within 2 minutes!!! Very apologetic and offered us free appetizers AND dessert, and even though we had to tell him we were on the Din. Plan, it was the gesture that was appreciated.

All other ADR's were, on average, about a 15 min. wait.

Our longest wait was Chef Mickeys. We waited an hour for our table.

We had the same experience at breakfast. And the food was pretty lackluster on top of it.

30 minutes at 'Ohana, Boma
45 minutes at Sci Fi - that was a long time ago.
45 minutes at Le Cellier

I have also been seated quite promptly at all of the above. (Except CM- that was our only time there.)

Ours was at Sci-fi cafe. It was about 20 minutes. We didn't care though. Neither my husband or I had eaten there so we were really excited just to be there :) It was so crowded that every few minutes they would go outside and annouce that is was so booked that if you didn't have ADR that you shouldn't bother waiting in line to ask, and to come back around 3-4:00 (it was about 11:30 or so at the time).

Popular place, and we sure did agree why! :)

I found SCI-FI and Hollywood and vine very disorganised against all of the other WDW ADR's, we were not allowed to check in or show up early, you had to go at your PS time to book in and not before. Then you had a long wait and it was up to 30 mins.

All other WDW resturants would take your name as you turned up if it was 5/10 mins before the PS time.

Hope its changed from last time was they seemed to go by their own rule book, or enforce a rule no other meal does.

we once waited an hour and a half at Jiko, at which point both daughters had fallen asleep in the waiting area, and then gave up and went up to our room and ordered room service. Granted this was when the Superbowl was in Jacksonville last year and the AKL was at 100% capacity but boy was I annoyed. They were full of apologies and told us we could come back the next day and they would seat us right away, but I was just to irritated to bother.

I've gotten over it now, and we've actually booked our Christmas dinner there this year. It is a wonderful restaurant.

This last trip we had to wait 20 minutes for Kona for dinner even with a an ADR. The not so funny thing was there were tables empty, I guess they had their reasons. WE just walked over to the bar and got a few drinks and waited.

All the other places on our last trip got us in within a few minutes of our ADR time. Which was nice. :)

Really want to try BOMA and the only time we could get was 9:40PM!
Is this a bad idea.....should I cancel? Seems to me that a buffet would be all picked over and the food would be cold and old if it's just 20 minutes before closing time! And with two boys I DON'T want the server approaching us ten minutes after we arrive to say "last call!"

I must lead a charmed life (or walk under a cloud of pixie dust) because I cannot recall a significant wait for any restaurant! In fact, once we couldn't get an ADR at Ohana for the time/night I wanted, so we decided to chance it and walk-in. I figured if they couldn't take us, we would just pop over to MK for counter service...they seated us almost immediately! :thumbsup2

But, we tend to eat dinner early (5:00 or 6:00 pm) or eat a very late lunch (2:00 or 3:00 pm), so maybe this is why the short waits.
