Whats Wrong with Disney?

I hope you are not basing that on the problems they had with their Forbidden Journey attraction.

Maybe getting evacuated one by one going down a ladder is part of the theme. :confused3

It happened ONCE that night. Get over it. The ride then ran for 4 hours afterwards during the preview. You are going to have to come up with something else.

As long as that doesn't come with a Kitten - tell Mr. Hattered no thanks. We have 3 rescues already and the furniture can't take anymore......

We also have 3 rescues at the moment. But that one keeps doing weird stuff. It's like he has cast a spell on us to continuously feed him.

And how many issues did they have with Forbidden Journey? Not just based on Gringotts.

Also, you would be running your mouth constantly and posting stupid pics if this happened at a media event for Disney.

A website has found permits filed with the Orange county comptroller site showing what will be the 5th Universal hotel with additional plans for a 6th and 7th.The 5th hotel will have 1,000 rooms and convention space and will be located between Cabana Bay and Royal Pacific. The 6th and 7th hotel will have 400 rooms but one could only be an expansion of Cabana Bay.Universal keeps expanding and before you know it you're going to be hearing of a third park going up on International Drive near Wet n Wild with some sort of monorail connecting the original campus to this new area,it's going to happen,it's like the hotel expansion at Disney in the 90's after DHS and before AK.Maybe the day this happens Disney will start to react and actually start to worry about their bottom line and start doing what they're supposed to be doing as the current top dog.

They are going to have to revamp their front of the line for hotel guests strategy with more hotels. If everyone ends up with that status, those lines will be just as long as the regular lines.

So you want to bring up opening issues that happened on two of the most technologically advanced attractions in the entire world? The likes that had never been done before? Have at it, Buddy. :lmao:

When Disney opens something advanced (if that is possible anymore) then we can discuss it then. In the meantime I will be running my mouth and feeling sad for you.

One of our cats from the local pound had been abandoned in an apartment for some time before she was found. She eats and eats too. Not much we can do about it with 3 other cats in the house who also need access to food. It's fine......until we need to lift her for some reason! :lmao:

There is a huge difference between cutting back or splitting trips and picking up your marbles completely.

I love WDW and spend a lot of time and money to go, however, if I am going to spend less time in the parks and the kids are interested in something else more age approriate then I don't have to spend ALL of my travel money on WDW.

I totally agree. I don't get the idea that people just shouldn't go anymore. I'll still go, because I do still love the Disney Parks. But I certainly will spread my costs around...TWDC isn't getting 100% anymore. Win-win. I pay less, get to see different things, stay in better resorts, eat better food and still get to enjoy the Disney Parks. :goodvibes

I went to universal solely for Harry potter. Which was awesome.
Spiderman was cool too. But other then that I can go to six flags.
I love Disney for the theming and the feel. I will go to universal to see new Harry potter park cause I love the movies. But that's it. So expensive for a one day pass.

Having grown up with the Six Flags Franchise there is no comparison between them and Universal. For the life of me I cannot see how anyone can compare the two and think they are the same...i don't remember Six Flags having immersive theming, state of the art experiences like Return of The Mummy, Jurassic park, Despicable Me, Simpsons, Men in Black, Transformers....etc....

I really think people go to Universal expecting Disney and that it is not. Universal has beautiful theming. Look at the Old NYC area. It is my second favorite theme of any park. Simply beautiful especially in the evening. The Harry Potter areas are amazing, All of IOA is themed awesome. Please...I encourage anyone who goes there to really open up your eyes and take it in!

Just pointing out your double standard when it comes to comparing the parks.

Nice justification for the glitches at these attractions. I am sure you will have more to come when more problems arise. I look forward to it to.

As I will feel sad for you as you constant jump in and criticize perceived issues with Disney and interject your love for all things Universal now in threads that arent even related to that discussion.

Great post! Thank you!! There are plenty of posts in this thread from those who love both but they seem to be getting ignored and skipped over as if it's a foreign concept that one could actually enjoy both Disney and Universal!

How about people who really love WDW being called ignorant because they don't think a broken yeti matters? or that FP+ is a major advancement in theme park tech? or that while they know Disney hasn't put up 3-4 new rides this year are OKAY with that and really don't care?

If you enjoy Universal thats great have fun.

PS - Disney doesn't need to change anything, NOT BECAUSE everything they do is right, BECAUSE not only does everyone still come every year but more and more people actually crowd into WDW.

Your obsession with me is flattering. How about let's stay on topic so the thread doesn't get shut down, mkay? If you want to rant on me then you are more than welcome to PM me.

I've only been to IOA and I felt I could have been at a 6 flags - except that it was definitely better looking than a six flags.

I know, I feel like people have probably lumped me in with the Universal haters, but that's not true, I actually really like it. I'm just a kinda tired of all the Disney bashing that goes on. Universal makes mistakes too, and has less than stellar aspects. I think people have overblown Disney's problems and glossed over Uni's. Both resorts have some awesome stuff to see and do. The competition is good too and it's a good time to be a theme park enthusiast!

If I want Old NYC I will go to Vegas where you can gamble ;) lol

Overflowing trash bins would be Disney's problem. But I can tell you with 100% certainty that there was a CM in almost all the bathrooms I visited during my most recent stay. And I'm a bit of a drinker, so I pretty much am in every Epcot bathroom I pass. Every time I pass it. What bothered me most was the paper towel on the ground. How hard is it to put your used paper towel in the trash?

Furthermore, I would always wipe the counter with my used paper towel before I threw it out, just to mop up the extra water around the sinks. Took me all of 3 seconds to do and helps make the place a little nicer for the next piglet, er...guest.

If we all did that, voilà...no more mess.

I totally agree that people can be slobs. There is nothing grosser than walking into a rest room and not being able to use a stall because somebody made a mess on the seat. I was at an Olive Garden a few weeks ago and there was only one stall that was acceptable to use. The other three was beyond gross! Seriously people need to clean up their own mess...especially on toilet seats! And flush the toilet!

That said unfortunately it is the establishments responsibility to maintain clean facilities for their guests. Why I think it is shameful for people to leave a mess in the first place I do expect the establishment to make sure it is cleaned up.

The mere fact that more and more people are splitting off a chunk of their vacation dollars and heading for Universal for part of their trip is definitely a loss Disney will feel. Disney's push to capture 100% of your vacation dollar (with DME, on-site perks and dining plan) was pure genius, exactly what I expected from the masters of marketing at Disney. It was pure genius because it benefitted Disney AND the guest. So much of what I've seen lately benefits ONLY Disney. And nobody can tell me that won't come back to bite them in the rear.

I didnt start directly interacting with you, now did I. You are the one that quoted me and told me to "get over it" Now, that isnt exactly on topic, is it?

Please follow your own advice.

And besides, if this thread gets shut down, you will just revise your same
"Universal is better" narrative on a myriad of other threads.

I love this thread! ~~

That being said disney is always changing and evolving. It's why they stay number one. Universal is just trying to do their best and keep up.. My brother is an engineer at universal and I have Disney blood running in my veins.. Universal's ride transformers did win best ride over Disney's cars ride... Transformers 3d experience is matched by none, honestly it's a great ride. I do however like cars better..

Universal does have huge plans in California with building Harry Potter, I can't wait to go..

--I would much rather spend a day at disney then a few hours at universal--

Universal will never have the magic that disney does.

What do you feel that Disney has done that benefits ONLY them?
