Just wondering if this is normal? jUst checked the 10 day weather forecast for Orlando and Nassau and both have thunderstorms for EVERY day. Is this normal? Don't want our whole vacation flooded out!

Also, booked the dolphin encounter on our own. How often does the boat not dock in Nassau and is rain all day the norm or would it be hit and miss storms? Anyone have any guesses? Just wondering if I should cancel...don't want to waste $300....Thanks!

This time of year, the storms are quick and done. Sometimes you won't even get them and most of the time they are in the late afternoon.

That's just a typical summer pattern for FL and the Bahamas. We always have a 50% chance of rain in the summer and a high of around 90 - 92. The thunderstorms are usually quick, about an hour at the most. Then, it's sunny and humid again. Don't cancel your excursion, I'm sure it will be fine.

Every day the forecast will show scattered thunderstorms in FL. That's just the way it is. We went in June for 6 days & it only rained 3 of those days for a short time. We stayed at the park or MK. It is the same way here in eastern NC.

Was on the 7/3 Wonder and there were storms in the distance as were were embarking, but other than that, it was clear and sunny skies the whole trip. It did thunderstorm every day at WDW, though. About 1 - 2 hours every day.

I know it is probably not the same company, but we booked our dolphin excursion on our own thru www.dolphindiscovery.com and since we were on a cruise ship, they told us that is for some readon the ship did not dock, then there would be no charge. Check with the company you booked with on that.

I wouldn't worry about the rain. Like another poster said...the rains come hard and quick.

We have a house in ORL. DD and I went to get our hair cut...about 2 miles away from our house. It poured rain at the hair salon....didn't rain a drop at our house. On July 2, 3 and 5...it rained like 3 times a day for 10 minutes....
On the 4th..the rain held off until all the fireworks began....go figure

I don't think it will ruin your cruise....

Phyllis

That is Florida weather for you during summer. A small price to pay for all year round nice weather. But like all posters said, it is hard and quick. So don't leave where you are at, just wait it out.
