What's with the Lime Green?

Except...that lime green is now a popular color. I saw tons of it in June, but after asking three people if they were DISers and told no, I stopped asking.

I noticed the same thing during our last visit. That's why a lot of people get the Mickey Mouse paint samples from Home Depot (they look like mouse ears) in the "Alien" green color and hang them from backpacks, purses, etc. You can even laminate them and use them as a nametag. I purchased a lime green shirt from the DIS shop to wear when we go again.

Thanks!

Sounds like fun. I'll probably get the green Mickey from Home Depot. I wonder if Home Depot knows why they're always out of that particular sample. he he he

Hi :wave2:

I know this may sound daft but i don't get the lime green thing either being a newbie  lol, do you wear anything lime green or particular things, it's too dear for me to buy from the disstore because i'm from England and feel a bit left out :sad2: lol

Just wondered, thanks :)

Oh and just a suggestion, how about wearing a lime green ribbon maybe, could mean less confusion (exception of maybe St Patricks day lol) when looking for other disers :)

i am so glad someone finally asked this question. I was feeling left out to. Will wear lime green in October. :)

Hello Live and Let Live, I am going to Home Depot in the next few days to see if I can get some Mickey's. I will be happy to send some to you. PM me your address and I will send to you. Cut off the backing, do not pull apart as it will rip the Mickey. You can put your Dis name on it, design etc and put in plastic or laminate them and hang from stroller, bag yourself etc. Also some Diser's are saying they are going to put one in the window of their resort room, that way people can stop and say hello. Just click on my name and it will give you a blank to type in an instant message.

Several people do this as well...so don't be shy if you see someone with anything lime green: keychain, ribbon, nametag, etc.

This may sound stupid, but what's a "Diser".
and What does wearing the lime green do?
:confused3

it seems as if everyone in the parks are wearing lime green tshirts this year...

and i'm sure they're not all disers...

Why - YOU are a Diser, so am I and the 6,000 or so people who peruse these boards.

I have neon lime green bandana that I tie to our stroller. It's great for identifying our stroller when it's parked w/tons of others. Unfortunately we didn't meet any Disers though on our last trip.

I also plan to get a lime green Mickey head from Home Depot (if they ever get any in)and write my Dis name on it and attach it to our backpack

I work at a Home Depot and those cards should be replenished every week by their Behr rep. I think the color name is sonic boom, I know this because I once dispensed the color without the can under the nozzle, needless to say, that was a big mess!

Do you ever think that Home Depots across the country are starting to wonder why all their lime green Mickey paint samples are disappearing and yet no one is buying that color paint???? :confused3 And what are they thinking at whatever central location that supplies the paint samples?

What a great idea about Mickey paint samples! My DSis and I were trying to think of something unique to ID our strollers. I too did not know what the lime green was all about. To add to this, if I meet a fellow Diser on my upcoming trip, is it pronounced Diss' er as in discussion or Diz' er as in Disney? Don't want my newbieism to shine too brightly!

My dd10s room is painted lime green.... we didn't pick it, is was like that when we moved in, but she loves it now!
Who knew!!!

:flower:

I really think we need some lime green smilies!!

It started out many years ago when people were looking for a way to identify other DISers in the parks. Lime green seemed to be a color that was easy to spot and not too many people wear so it was picked. People use the Home Depot paint things, ribbons, etc.. to mark their backpacks, strollers, luggage, etc..

We always have some lime green ribbon and we have spotted a few DISers. Of course, I have also embarrassed myself by asking strangers if they were DISers and getting really odd looks! LOL! ;) I guess they just don't know what they are missing!

I am headed to Home Depot for Lime Green Mickey's anyone going in November be on the lookout for Dsnymouse. I can't wait!! :bounce:

There was a post about this a few months ago and it seems it goes 50/50. DH and I say "diss-er" as do many, but some say "diz-er". I always took it to be from discussion and then one day I went OH, like Disney too! But I was already stuck on my pronunciation.... :confused3 I don't think it's been decided a specific way.
