Whats With Disney's New Buns?

As I have not eaten bun-containing foods in WDW since December 2007, I can't state an opinion.
But to all of you that are disappointed, dissatisfied, just plain mad, why don't you write an email to Disney? It's worth a try and I for one would love to see the responses that you get back.
ETA: Not trying to be a kill-joy - if your food doesn't taste good while on vacation and paying top-dollar for it, I can totally understand the upset feelings. I'm not saying you're not entitled to your opinions and that they shouldn't be voiced, but maybe some extra voicing to TPTB might help you out too? :)

Honestly, an email isn't going to do much. The best way to express your feelings and get a response is writing an HANDWRITTEN letter, phone call or in person. I've read someone that 100 emails is equivalent to 1 handwritten letter. :confused3

DH & I just got back and was soooooo disapointed with Casey's hot dogs! we couldn't believe how the buns fell apart! it was a big mess trying to eat them. We also love whole wheat buns and the ones we buy do not fall apart like those, until they change the buns we wont go back !

Last year when we went I wasn't real thrilled about the change at Casey's. I don't mind wheat, and we almost always get Whole White Wheat at home. The problem I had is it's supposed to be food you'd get at the ballpark. Now maybe in California :lmao: they serve those "healthy hot dogs". Actually, I know that's not the case, because we go to new ballparks each year and have been to the SCal ones. Every single ballpark I've been to serves them on some variation of a soft white bun, without exception.

So like I said, last year, it was more of a principle thing for me, chalked up DS5's bun falling apart to the way he eats a hotdog. Well this past trip, it's our last day at WDW, and we have 4 CS credits remaining, so I order 4 hot dog meals. I go to the condiments and open the first one, bun is already apart, so I figure, okay, DS2 can have that one, he eats it all seperate anyways. Open the next one, bun is apart again, okay DS5 can have that one, he just uses a bun to hold the hotdog, and then somehow eats it, without ever eating the bun. Open the next one, same thing.

Finally, I open the last one and it was like I won a prize in the 3rd year of YOMD, a fully intact bun, I was looking for the CMs in the vests, but then I remembered, YOMD was only 2 years, not 3. Anyway, I go to our seats, and ask DW if she wants me to get a new one, but she said not to bother. Now I'm about 6' and 2-something, so let's just say, a hotdog isn't going to last long for me. And I didn't finish it quick enough before the apparently destructive properties of the mustard corroded their way through the once intact bun.:scared1:

Would hate to think what my hands, shirt and innocent bystanders near me would look like if I were at a Cincy game eating a Skyline Coney on one of Disney's buns.

Let's start a campaign for people to smuggle real buns into the parks:

I BRING MY BUNS TO DISNEY WORLD...ok maybe this needs a little work before the t-shirts get printed.;)

Micca I was coming to post the same idea. We need to bring our own buns in the parks!

Last trip I skipped my wonderful Casey's dog because of the nasty buns. Not this next trip! I'm bringing my own buns!!!

I blame Obama.
lol!

Sorry, I'm pretty sure I had one of those awful buns in October of 2008 at Animal Kingdom, so Bush is def. to blame. lol Obama has yet to do anything about it, so logically it's his fault too.

The thing that gets me REALLY steamed about these awful buns is that they are NOT even healthy!! I have food allergies so in reading the ingredients number 1 is you guessed it plain old regular flour (not whole wheat) and number 3 is high fructose corn syrup. All of the whole grain ingredients are in the 2% or less section at the end of the ingredients. In essence they taste bad, have lots of weird ingredients people are allergic to, and are chock full of unhealthy ingredients. They must be darn cheap though as they are made by the same supplier that makes WalMart Breads that sell for less than $1 a loaf. The only difference must be that they do not have trans fat and the old buns must have. But still it's easy now to find breads without transfats and HFCS that taste great and are still cheap to produce. I can't believe these buns have lasted so long. I guess people don't bother to complain? I did!
