what's with all the unauthorized email access lately???

My e-mail account was hacked over the weekend. All of my e-mails were forwarded to a bogus account. I was able to fix it and changed my password. I have no idea how many e-mails were forwarded or what information was given out. I'm still waiting for a call from comcast security and fraud.

1st was HSN now its

Target, disney Destinations,chase so far.

I had noticed weird e-mails from ups but i didnt open. I asked dh if he ordered something and he said No, he thought I had oe=rdered something. so i warned him not to open. Luckily I got these ups emails before i ordered from hsn or I would have thought it was from them. Hopefully none of our cc info was hacked.

to the poster that said they got their emails forwarded to a bogus e-mail acct. how did you find out???? Im not sure if any of my e-mail have been forwarded, i hope not

It was just on our local news that these emails are not coming from these sites....Do not reply back with any forms with personal information.

Which emails? The emails informing us that our email addresses had been compromised? Those are not from the sites? There is not a form and no request for personal information.

Disney, Walgreens, Mypoints, College Boards, NY and Company, Target...they keep popping up everyday!

I have gotten a few. One from disney destinations. Interestingly I got an offer email from them the same day when I haven't gotten one in MONTHS. One went to my junk mail, the other to my inbox. Strange.

But stranger is that yesterday I got junk mail from my husbands cousin. We email occasionally so it didn't seem weird to see her name, but when I opened the email my virus warning popped up and it was a link to what turned out to be an online pharmaceutical site:sad2:
I haven't spoken to her yet, but from the header, it appears it was sent to everyone on her contact list. I know she wouldn't do that. Could be coincidence.. but I don't imagine it is.

I got one from Disney Destinations also.
I have been getting lots of SPAM lately even with my SPAM filter turned on. I wish I knew how to make it stop! :headache:

I received an e-mail from Victoria Secret about it:

Dear Valued Customer,

Your privacy is extremely important to us, and we wanted to share the following information with you. We discovered that an unauthorized party has gained access to files containing email addresses associated with several companies including Victoria's Secret credit cards.

While your email address and/or name may have been included in these files, no sensitive financial or other personal information was compromised. However because of the circumstance, you may receive spam emails. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I just got one from Tastefully Simple. I am not happy. I didn't give them my email so they could store it in a database. I gave it to the host at my first party last month. And this was a new email address that I had just gotten because I was getting too much spam on my old one. I really hope I don't start getting spam now.

Chase as well. I am annoyed b/c I have other accounts like those others have noted that have not popped me a note.

I had 4 friends hacked on the same day (last week), their email accounts all sent me and others virus loaded emails. Promptly changed my own email password, as that appears to be the only fix hotmail and aol gave these friends. Decided to be proactive. Reading this thread makes me feel like it is was a very good idea, as it there may be a small possibility it is related.

For me it's been Disney Destinations, Target, Best Buy, Hilton Honors, Marriott Rewards... major retailers.. and yet Epislon's Web reads only 2% of their client data was accessed. I find that hard to believe.

I also found it hard to believe Disney doesn't send out their own emails. I guess I was naive thinking when I give Disney and others permission to email me that THEY are managing my data, not a third party. I guess I missed that fine print.

All I want to know is.. are the hacked clients, like ohhh (as they rub Epsilon's back and comfort them). It's okay, you said you are sorry and now we'll keep giving you our client data.

This really annoys me for some reason. I think it's just so nonchalant.

I had this same problem when this problem occurred with TripAdvisor 2 weeks ago. Spam emails were sent from my email account to everyone on my contact list without my knowledge. I changed my email password and deleted all the names from my address/contact list
