what's with all the moved posts?

There is a new Community Board and it's all been moved there. It's really a good idea. Go and check it out.

But Why? why move posts about DVC over to the community board. What do you talk about on the DVC board? Dvc topics. Why would anyone on the community board care about Dvc topics? I originally had a long post about all of the moved posts, but thought maybe they were moved HERE, so I deleted it, but I think maybe I was wrong, they were moved from here to another place on this site. What's wrong with someone asking where Dvcer's are from, trip reports, DVC meetings, etc... If I'm wrong, let me know.
I'm not clear on this, If they were moved from here, is this spot for DVC advertising, ie timeshare store, convince people to buy/sell dvc. and not dvc discussion? OR if they were moved from another spot on the Dis to HERE, as Emily Latella would say, "Never Mind".

Didn't get a chance to see it yet. So is this board for selling/renting/buying/advertising/FAQs now? and no info from actual members? Why create a new board? pressure from advertisers, renters looking for cheap rooms, or some other people who were not dvc members who may have been bored with DVC owners opinions? If we want to share anything about DVC should we ask the monitor if we should put this topic or opinion here, or should we just post it and hope to find it on another board on wdwinfo land.
Sorry, just curious.

Okay, thanks to Calypso, I have now learned there is a new board. (I guess I REALLY don't read the "stuff" at the top of the page....must be why I am ALWAYS leaving personal messages in posts!!!;) ).

But, here's my new question...how do I get to this new board?? I can't seem to find it on the main page.

Thanks,

Until someone "official" responds, my guess would be this:

DVC Board
- Prospective members with questions
- Procedural issues (how do I bank, what are the seasons, etc.)
- Discussion of prices and promotions
- Resort questions
- Resale questions

DVC Community Board
- Trip Reports (probably 75% of the posts)
- Waitlist success
- "Roll Calls"
- Christmas tree exchanges
- Member cruise

I didn't know what to make of all of the "moves" either, but now it makes sense. It will probably take a while to figure out where to post, but I'll adjust. ;)

I was reading someone's post that got moved to the community board. It was about availability of VWL (would they need to book 11 months out). I didn't think that would be a "community board" thing, but rather a DVC resort question. It makes me think I don't "have it", yet.

Not to point any fingers, but I suspect the moderators are still getting their feet wet, too. In a couple of days I suspect we'll all have a much better idea of what's going on.

tjkraz...I'm sure you're right!!!

Two seperate boards is just too confussing. I was reading both and see why some were moved and can't see why others were not moved. Why the need to break it into two separate confussing boards in the first place is my question??..smjj

I think most people fight change at first (including me) but get use to it eventually.

What they (webmasters) really need to do before moving all the posts is put the link to the new board on the main DIS page. Currently you have to go to the DVC main menu to get the the DVC community board.

Beca, I agree that posts aren't always where you'd expect them to be. There was a post on renting points that's on the DVC Discussion Board -- seems they should be on the DVC Rent & Trade Board!! Oh well...

Laurabearz... I didn't think about that. I think it is a good idea!

Gee...maybe they can secure the board with that super secret password the Official Disney DVC site used to use (since they're not using it anymore). :p

I guess change is good. I'm sure things will sort out eventually and people will adjust. ::yes::
