What's weather like in January for Cozumel & Castaway Cay?

Is the waters warm enough to swim in Cozumel and at Castaway Cay in January?
Looking to book Playa Mia resort in Cozumel. Do you recommend this resort? two families with kids. Read about their water park for kids.

Definitely warm enough in Cozumel. A little cooler in the Bahamas, but still swimming weather unless you want it really hot out.

We were on Fantasy Western this past January 18-25. We did Disney excursion to Playa Mia - very fun! I found the swimming pool to be too cool for my liking but my kids stayed in the water park for quite a while. We then went over to ocean and had a blast swimming out to the trampolines! I despise cool or cold water and found the ocean water to be delightful! We liked it! At Castaway Cay we had a beautiful day! A lot of people were out in the ocean but again it was sadly too cold for my liking. We spent time resting on hammocks and lying in the sun while kids had a BLAST at kids club on the island! Talk about paradise - we had quiet time in a Bahamian beach and kids played all day at the club! Kids were almost 7 and 4 1/2 on cruise!

It is cooler in Castaway Cay in January. The weather outside was great but the water was cold when you got in. We braved it and went snorkeling. It took a while to warm up but you did get use to it. It was worth it. The water slides were too cold though because you kept getting in and out of the water and was freezing every time.

Cozumel can be cold if a Norte comes in but pretty much the water is cool to get in at first but you can easily get used to it fast. We go for 3 weeks in January.

Just got back from both. Water is on the chilly side, but once you get in is quite pleasant. Had my young ones in body suits, but they are kind of wimps about water temp ;-)
