What's up with The Nick Hotel $$$$

I've been checking for end of October rates and they have been around $250 per night. tonight I checked ariving October 25 checking out October 29. The rate has shot up to $549 per night!!!! Not sure what that means other than maybe the cheaper rooms are all gone. But there is no way I will pay $549 per night. Anyone see these high rates before?

Just to see the rate breakdown, I clicked on reserve for the $549 nightly rate. The rate came up as a travel zoo $149 per night. I called the nick hotel because I have a higher rate reservation that I want to change. The guy said the $149 wouldn't come up. There is a mistake in their system. He was showing $999 per night while I was showing 149 per night. The guy gave me $149 for 2 nights and $169 for 2 weekend nights. This is a refundable rate.The $169 is a magic card rate. The $149 is travel zoo.
I did try to book the $149 online and the rates shot up to $999. Their tech people are working on it now.

They also do a halloween thing at the hotel during the month of October. I think the rates have gotten outrageous and I won't pay the money to stay there again. We love it there, but we can love it someplace else for cheaper.
