What's up with T-Rex and Rainforest in December?

I can make my dining reservations starting tomorrow, so today I'm just playing around seeing what's available for Dec 23 (we arrive Dec 24, staying offsite, so I'll have to book ressies day by day starting tomorrow). So, I just searched for lunch and dinner n the 23rd to see what's available. Well, lot of things are available including CRT and Chef Mickey's, but T-Rex and Rainforest show no availability. Really? I find that hard to believe. My DS loved T-Rex last time an I'm hoping to book a late lunch or early dinner there during our trip. I hope it isn't sold out all week! Any clue why those two restaurants show no availability when places like Chef Mickey's are still open?

Call the restaurant and make your reservation through them directly. They only release a percentage of seats to WDW dining and hold the rest for people who make reservations through the restaurant.

THIS. T-Rex was showing no availability at all online for my dates in September. I called and they said they had all dinner times available, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Heck, the day I called, they even had openings for that very evening.

I don't have the number for Rainforest Cafe, but T-Rex is 1-407-828-8739. HTH

YW. Can't answer the question about the 180 day mark because I booked well into that time frame.

I tested it -- 180 days doesn't matter to them. I booked it for Christmas Eve!

Thank you! Was able to change mine from the 9/27 to 9/26 at a better time, so this means I can now take advantage of the Epcot's soft opening of F&W!!!

Glad I read this thread. It's the same for October. The agent on the phone said "sometimes they don't release all the tables for a long while". So that much be the case. I'll call directly. Why couldn't that gal on the phone tell me that? She must have known. Thanks!

After being totally disappointed that T-Rex was showing no availability for our Christmas trip, I stumble across these posts, and a quick phone call snagged me a reservation for dinner on December 28th .

So a huge thanks from this Diser!
