I heard she was no longer with CM and opened her own line but I was just looking at www.estickers.com and she has a whole line over there.
I heard she also was coming out with albums. Has anyone seen them or know where to look at them?

Mrs. Grossman has had her own line of stickers since the late 1970's. The factory is in my hometown of Petaluma, Ca. and she used to come to our school when I was in elementary school and talk about her stickers and her business. Sticker books were HUGE when I was a kid. There is a free factory tour at the plant, and you get a bag of free stickers at the end. Her website is really interesting, it tells the story of her company and has lists of stores that sell her stuff. It also shows some of her scrapbooking supplies. www.mrsgrossmans.com

The rumor I have heard is she was contractually forbidden to sell her own scrapbooking supplies as long as she supplied CM with their stickers. Now she has her own line of supplies and CM has their own line of stickers.

I have see her new post bound albums and they are absolutely beautiful. She also has a spiral bound that you can get page protectors for. They look like they would be great for a young person or teen. I don't know the reason for the parting of ways with CM, maybe one of our consultants here can tell us. I don't think she has never been exclusive to CM.

PS: Her new post bound album is 8X8.

Chessie, where have you seen her albums? I looked on her site and didn't see any. I did see the spiral ones on estickers I really would be interested in the 8x8 for gifts.
I saw a picture of her albums in a mag but I was just looking while in line and didn't get the mag.
I plan to make a trip to my LSS (should be DISTANT LSS! Lol) hopefully in the next week or so.

Spinning,

Here is a link.

One of the ladies at the all day crop I went to said they had them in a store in Pa. She said she lives half way between Harrisburg and Gettysburg so it could possibly be the one near you. From the way she talked she does a lot of traveling to visit LSS's. My LSS doesn't have them yet. I too think they will make great gift books.

8 X 8

they do a 12x12 album too - but the 8x8 is a really nice size. I've got one too, just need to work out what I'm going to do with it :-)

From what I understand CM parted ways with Mrs. G's because they wanted to expand their own sticker line. From what I understand this is a similar move from when CM sold Ellison die cuts and eventually went to developing their own die cuts in-house. Mrs. G's was the only product in their line that wasn't CM exclusive. Makes business sense to me. CM now has in-house designers and develop their own stickers.

The latest rumor I've heard is that Mrs. Gs was contractually bound to make their stickers ac/lf, but also photo safe per CMs directive. Now that there's no longer a binding contract between the two, Mrs. Gs does not have to take the extra step (which costs more $$) to make the stickers photo safe and she isn't! I don't know if this is true or not, but I won't take the chance and put her stickers on/near my photos. Like I said, it's only a rumor. Take the information or leave it.

what's the difference between acid free/lignin free and photo safe?

Personally, I probably wouldn't put a sticker ON a photo anyway - but I wouldn't have any concerns about using an acid free sticker on the same page as a photo. Not that's it's likely to be a problem, as I don't much like Mrs G. stickers anyway.

Well, it's an extra step the manufacturer takes to meet the high standards of being able to claim "photo safe." Meaning the correct ph level, the alkalinity level, etc. If the levels are off the product will deteriorate faster. I don't have all the technical info, but I'll see if I can find it and get back to you.

A good analogy is this....peanut butter is af and lf, but it certainly isn't photo safe.

FYI

One difference between CM's album pages and those of other companies is that they are buffered.....this protects any products negative ingredients from traveling across the page and affecting the photos on the page. Another concern here.....when scrappers cover the cm album pages with 12 x 12 paper, you lose the buffering properties of the page itself. This is ONE reason why CM doesn't offer 12 x 12 paper, only 10 x 12 and smaller.

Just so you know!! Enjoy.
