Last week DH and I decided to go see Turtle Talk with Crush. We have not seen it in YEARS and decided it would be fun to see on a crowded hot afternoon. So, we go in and Crush talks about turtle life and asks some questions with predictable answers. And the kids all shout the answer as well as the "MC" who also gives the "correct" answer. Then he says he has to swim out to sea and he leaves.

Now I haven't seen it in a very long time, but I remember the first time I saw I was totally amazed. I remember him calling on kids ("the boy in the blue shell" ) and then the guy would go to him with a microphone and he would ask Crush a question and Crush would answer him. None of that happened this time. It was as interactive as a tv show. Not amazing at all. :confused3 Is this how the show goes now? It was short and pointless.

Aww:sad2:That's sad! My kids thought it was TOTALLY amazing that crush could talk to people in the crowd!;) Crush actually called on one of my boys and asked him where his sea was and how he swam all the way to DCA!! That was in Nov.of 2010. I hope that perhaps it was just a glitch the day you were there and not the norm - that would be sad and yes,pointless!:confused3

It was totally great for us. My DD was one of the kids called on and then even I had to interact. It was pretty funny because I had my wheelchair at that point so we were in the very back and it wasn't crowded. So the kids were up in the front and we're way in the back. When he asked who her mom was I raised my hand and he said "WOOOOAH She's taking a vacation from the kids! She's all the way back to Utah over there!" ;)

Ok, that's what I remember. I wonder if we had a fluke day or if that's all they do now. It wasn't very good.

Yeah maybe some stuff wasn't working or the cm was sick or numerous other things. I'm sorry it wasn't good but it still can be so try again!!

I was going to say, I bet the regular CM was sick so they had to make do. Bummer it wasn't as great as normal tho, we love Crush!

The Crush/kid interaction is priceless:rotfl2:. It is one of the best shows at Disney. Let's all hope it was a one time thing and Crush will get back to being himself...:cool1:

My kids had a great time with Crush in mid July and the interactions were spontaneous and not scripted... I know because Crush asked if a parent was present -- my daughter had been selected -- and no one came forward... which was awkward because my daughter is only six, that would have been weird for a six year old to be wandering around by themselves... and then my mom volunteered that she was the Grandma and everyone was pretty amused.

we just got back from our trip and Crush was interactive with the audience. Must have caught it on an off day OP.

We saw Crush just a couple of weeks ago and he was interactive--but he must have been having a bad day because he wasn't as humorous as he had been in the past. We all remarked on it.

We were there last week and it was totally interactive - Crush actually talked to me! Amongst several other people in the audience. It was really fun! You must have had a fluke "off" performance for some reason!

Wow, after all those years we finally decide to go see it again and it was a flop! I'm glad it was just off show, but it seems like it would have been better to cancel the show if they had to. Unless something happened in the middle of the show. :confused3 Anyway, glad that it still is as good as I remember. I'll have to try it again next time.

BTW, the name Crush called me is EpicEmily. I'd appreciate it if you would all call me that from now on LOL (Daughter was Surfin' Sophia haha)

:lmao: I was Cucamonga Kayleigh! He asked me a question and instead of answering yes, I said "totally" and he said "Look at you with the lingo!!" and swirled around all excitedly. :rotfl:

Ocean Wave Dave. When we saw him in June, he was very interactive and loads of fun. I was totally caught off guard when he talked to me.

Now, at home, I'm OWD. Dolby1000 likely to be retired.

OWD

We saw Crush three times on our trip the first week of July.

Interactive and fun.

We've seen this show dozens of times over the years and the kids' questions/answers are often the funniest thing we hear all day.

At one show, however, we were very surprised to hear Crush call out as he swam away at the end of the show - "Remember, fish are not food!".

I bet that comment caused some interesting interactions between kids and parental units at dinner time that night.
