OK I am ready to blow.... Once have I received one- years ago....now it seems like lots are getting these postcard codes. I feel like a big ol loser...more like a sucker I guess paying aaa rate in peak season.....

Don't feel bad - I've NEVER gotten one.

I'm not angry though - Not in the least. Just because I've now read 3 posts about people saving more than $1,000 for their stay at the Wilderness Lodge while I'm paying rack rate.

well you could do aaa instead of rack rate.

I don't have AAA. I have roadside assistance through my auto dealership.

I don't even think it's the money anymore. I wouldn't care if I got a postcard for a time I couldn't go, just as long as I knew that Disney acknowledged me in any respect.

I assure you, when my annual pass is about to expire, they never seem to forget about me when it comes times to send me the renewal notice.

Ever see National Lampoon's Vacation? At the end, when Chevy Chase and his family get to Wally World and the park is closed. Then Chevy goes on this rampage about "We watch his show. We go to his movies...etc"?

That's how I feel. I go to the parks. I stay at the resorts. I spend hundreds of dollars a year at the store at the malls. I buy all the DVD's. I go to all the movies. I take all these stupid surveys. Just once, ONCE, I'd like to get one of these postcards.

We are paying aaa now- but it sure doesn't come close to the 40% off rate with the pin code!! And I think because I tasted it once.... we used it at the bc and I remember checking in and the man next to me yelling at the desk cm why his rate was so much higher than mine(nosey) Now I'll be the cranky one at the front desk... OK not really I am never cranky at Disney.*oh wait I did cry once but I was pregnant and not feeling the love from the family....

You gotta love pregnancy moodiness. When I was pregnant I was at the supermarket one day and I pulled my cart into a line and the cashier said he was closed and I started to cry. :) I tried to hide in the cereal aisle but people were giving me strange looks.

I really would love to get my hands on one of these postcards/emails.
I got an email from Disney Destinations at my work email last month and I just noticed it this morning as I was cleaning out my folders. It said:
Since you've shown interest in a Disney Vacation in the past, we wanted to know whether you'd enjoy being up-to-date on our latest Theme Parks, Resorts, Cruise news, and other information from our family of businesses. We'd love to keep you informed about the newest attractions and events, plus tell you when you're eligible for great Disney offers while they last.

Well I just about fell out of my chair until I wondered how they even got that email address in the first place but who am I to argue. Obviously I then went through all folders (in, deleted, and junk) to see if I missed something else.
No such luck!

I posted on another thread that I'm starting to wonder if the people who go to Disney often are left off the email/post card rates. I NEVER got one. I think that maybe they are using them as incentives for people who rarely go or to try to get someone who stays moderate/value to upgrade.

I do think if you're a Disney "frequent flyer" you should get some bonus. When we stayed at January I was able to get AAA but not an AP rate for the Polynesian. Right now we've got AAA at YC and GF (for now, who knows!) but I don't feel that confident that we'll get an AP rate this summer.

I would love to recieve a postcard for anything I don't care if it's a free pretzel. We are in the process of planning our 3rd June trip in three years and know we will be going back in Dec. of 08. Oh well, guess I'll just keep wishing on a star, that someday my postcard will come.:rolleyes1

My sister received the post card with the 40% off a Value resort...So, she called Disney...Even though the dates began with October 3rd...She was able to book a room for five days at a value resort at the value season price with 40% off beginning October 2nd for five days...She asked if she wanted..would she be able to book two rooms...We both have Annual Passes...She was told that if I wanted to book at that price, since I had an Annual Pass...I could book a room, too....My sister was told that the 40% offer was for those who were Annual Passholders....Well...I didn't get a post card...in the mail...yet..supposedly..if I wanted to...I could get the 40% off, too. :confused3 We may book in December, too at that price....

PS...My sister and I go together to Disney all the time...I'd say the majority of the time...the room will be in my name...not hers...I wonder if THAT is the reason she received a post card and I didn't????

I just got a postcard too but it is worthless to me. I just bought an AP a few weeks ago and booked 3 rooms with it. Wanted to use the postcard on a fourth room but since I am not staying in that room I can't use it. Funny how I get a card after I buy the AP:mad:

I have gotten a bounceback rate and used codes from Mousesavers, but I have never ever received a direct communication from Disney in the form of an email or postcard pin. This February will be my 9th trip. The discount comes from AAA. The tickets come from UnderCover Tourist. It is all the luck of the draw, I suppose.

I would love a postcard! But as a dvc member I doubt they think they have to work hard to get me there. I do pay cash for some stays and would love a good discount!

I called looking to see if there was a code in thier system under my name. I vacation at Disney every year and have never gotten a postcard rate. I told the girl that I belong to a travel group (Dis). I said several members of my travel group have gotten email postcards. I told her that I was afraid I may have missed my email because it could have gone into spam. She told me I did have a pin and promo listed in her system. She did not know what the dates are and wasn't able to locate the details of the promo. She said something about the Month of May. But wasn't sure what the dates were, or if it was multiple months. I told her that I want to go in October. She said the promo could cover October, she needs to find out the details. She is talking to her supervisor and will call be back tommorrow after 4.

Does Disney ever call back?

I'm a DVC member and I received a postcard. What's weird is that it was sent to my parent's house which I lived at when I first purchased but I'm married now.:confused3

Ok, I got curious. I went to:

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/index

and at the bottom clicked on Guest Services. On the page that comes up click on "Your Account". If you are already registered at disney.go.com, login. If not, register. There is a tab that says E-Newsletter Options. There are some places to sign up for offers from Disney. And at the bottom of the page is a link to Manage your e-mail preferences. I was not signed up for any offers so I signed up here. Now to see if I get anything!
