What's Tusker House Like Now??

I used to love the Tusker House (esp. the Salmon) when it was CS?? Now that it has changed to a buffet I was wondering what the food is like and if it's worth including in our ADR's for this summer?

We went for breakfast and it was FANTASTIC, one of our favorites. However, I get the feeling you're looking for lunch / dinner info. I have pix from our breakfast buffet if you'd like, just let me know.

Okay! Sorry to OP if this is a hijack:

As best I can recall, starting around 9:00 is a chocolate croissant, clockwise is bacon, red potatoes (yum), maybe bobotie (can't remember if that's it?), ham, quiche (yum), then this might have been bobotie, sausage, cheese crepe w/ apple sauce, and chocolate bread.

Everything was so good. DH had pretty much the same on his plate so I didn't photo it. And the juice was delish, service was so friendly, and we got to add Daisy to our list of characters we met.

Definitely one of the best buffets we did!

OP - excuse my Q please haven't visited since it switched over to tS

does Tusker House still have the same (what i felt were rickety/uncomfy) chairs & tables...also thought diners were packed in rather tightly when it was CS

I didn't notice a problem with chairs - we thought they were just regular chairs - although we hadn't gone BEFORE the changeover. Now that you mention it, some of the tables were rather close; we bumped the people behind us when we got up and down from our seats.

We had lunch there in Oct. 2008 and some friends of ours had it in Jan 2009 - we all love it! Even my picky 9 year old enjoyed it!

I have eaten there many times as CS (yuuummm chicken salad) and 2x when it has been the buffet.....it doesn't seem overly crowded (good thing they have to have space for the characters to walk around) and the chairs seem to be the same....but I didn't find them uncomfortable.....I remember they used to have the dark wood with cushions before? all I remember is they are still dark wood....possibly with taller backs, but we didn't find them uncomfortable...

and the salmon is good as well

TOTALLY worth it!

(now if they would put my salad on the buffet haha)

We ate Lunch BUffet at Tusker House last week. Loved it and was amazed by the buffet. Carved beef and pork, potato, rice, veggies, chicken, salads, breads, kid food, and delicious desserts.

Next trip we'll definitely do a breakfast there. Its probably similar to Boma breakfast which was great also.
