I read a post on biddingfortravel that mentioned they had to pay $2 for a day pass on the Anaheim Resort Transit shuttles. They quoted a travel site about the new policy for all area resorts, but I haven't found a reference to it yet.

This thread on Laughingplace.com talks about it. Someone for HoJo's replied stating how their hotel does it.

Seems inexpensive.

"A single-day ART adult pass is only $2, a 3-day pass is $5, and a 5-day pass is $8. Children 9 and under are always free, but must have an ART Child’s Pass. ART passes are available at most Anaheim Resort hotels, the Anaheim Convention Center, the official Anaheim Tourist Information Center across from Disneyland’s main pedestrian entrance and the Anaheim Visitor Center at Harbor and Katella. "

Kinda takes the bonus of a free shuttle, but I guess if they city is using the money to get the streets less congested w/ individual hotel shuttles, it's worth the few bucks a day.

From what I understand, The Candy Cane Inn still operates it's own free shuttle.

Explained to me, that if you book a package, that it is $5. per ADULT (kids 9 and under are free) for length of stay. If you stay 2 nights or 10 nights, it is $5. Not sure what happens if you don't book a package.

If you plan to use the shuttle the hotel offers besure to check to see if they use this shuttle co. If so a family of 4 (with children 10 & older) it is cheaper to park in Mickey and Friends then to use the shuttle.

So much for "free" transportation.

We checked into the Fairfield Inn on January 1. January 1 happened to be the day they instituted this new fare system. Now it was not usually a big deal to walk to the park from there. But coming back at night with a couple of exhausted children ( not to mention we adults) made it nice to have the option. So we got it for a couple of days but were not happy about it. It turned out most of the drivers did not even check but there was always at least one who did so you wanted to make sure you had it. The front desk people issuing the passes had a difficult time doing it (being a new system). I hope they receive enough comment from unhappy customers that they do away with it.
