what's the worst thing you've eaten at wdw?

No contest. The fish and chips at Rose & Crown. The chips were soggy and greasy. The fish was completely tasteless and the batter was chewy. It was strange. I could barely cut the fish with a knife, so I wound up eating just the fish out from the batter.

For me it was the Grilled Flank steak at Kouzzina's. It was too salty & did not even taste like beef. My DH eats everything & he wouldn't eat it. I also agree on San Angel, love the atmosphere, but will not go back there to eat.

I have to agree the milshake at Sci Fi was NASTY we ordered vanilla and it tasted like a gross McD's shake....the waiter even said "sorry its kinda thin we had to turn the machine down cuz some kid said they were too thick" ok so DUH they arent handmade. Secondly I was all looking forward to trying Columbia Harbor House last trip and I was SUPER disappointed. I ordered the fish and chicken basket, it was all greasy and it tasted like the oil hadnt been changed in forever.

We've had good, great and mediocre food at WDW, but by far the absolute worst thing I have ever tried to eat is the mushroom ravioli/lasagna (can't remember which for sure) last Sept. at Cali Grill. I was so looking forward to the meal, but first we were forgotten about at the bar for almost 2 hours, and then I got THAT meal. OMG, it was like a soggy mushy wonton, some hard and dry some gooey rubbery mess, not to mention tastless. I couldn't even enjoy the fireworks, I kept thinking, oh no, I just spent $$$ on This? I really should have sent it back, but the server didn't ask me anything when he picked up my barely touched plate, either. Please, do yourself a favor and never, ever order this.

Places I will Never Eat at Again:

The Crystal Palace, for breakfast. Rubbery, cold food that's not worth the price you pay for it. If you're there to see the characters, great, but don't expect anything appetizing.

Cosmic Rays. I can't even remember what I ordered, only that it was cold, greasy and tasted like cardboard. It was so bad I only managed to choke down a couple of bites before throwing it away. Also, the place was filthy. Whoever's job it was to clean the tables was seriously slacking off.

Sunshine Seasons. Just incredibly, incredibly bland. My mother and I both had the half chicken and agreed it was absolutely tasteless. I was disappointed because I'd heard such good things about it.

I'm not a terribly picky person, but the chicken nuggets at Cosmic Rays on the kids meal were horrible - the 'chicken' looked like a little white sponge, full of tiny holes. I have NO idea what it really was, apart from inedible. And kind of scary :scared1:.

KC:santa:

Oh my gosh. This litterally made me gag. I will never get those. I have a thing with chicken because one time I went to a restaurant when I was about 10 or 11 and got chicken tenders. I ate a few bites before I noticed the chicken was PINK and just gross looking. It was the most disgusting experience ever. I ended up getting sick too. After that I am VERY careful about the chicken I eat.

I haven't read all the pages in this thread but wanted to add as I saw someone else had sort of said, the poor food (in general) is a HUGE reason we just bought DVC. I was getting so tired and ANGRY at spending $100 or more each meal and hating what we ate! UGH!:scared: I think the $140 Rose and Crown meal that we didn't eat any of and went and got CS afterwards was the last straw. I'll be glad to grab quite its in our villa and only eat out occasionally as opposed to all the time. YAY saving $.

I'm glad on my last trip I finally decided to not eat what just truly wasn't worth the calories and the waitress took my entree off my bill thankfully. :guilty:

Also not a fan of the Dole whip BUT I can see why people would be. :)

My first trip to Disney World we ate at the Kona Cafe before going to the Pirate & Princess Party. At this point in time I was not a very adventurous eater but went out on a bit of a limb and got the Mahi Mahi dish. Not only was our waitress terrible but I really didn't enjoy my meal at all. The dessert I got was the chocolate fondue with mushy strawberries and chocolate that seriously tasted like nail polish remover.

I went back here for breakfast on our last trip and had a really great meal, so I'm not sure if Kona was just having an off night or it's just not my kind of place.

I was also very unhappy with my Lamb Two Ways dish from Rose & Crown, as well as my dessert...although it was awesome to watch Illuminations from their patio but fireworks display actually left us with ash in our food!!

Dinner at LTT. I liked the dinner rolls  but the meat platter was really unappetizing to me and I didn't like the canned apple pie filling-esque dessert.

Steak from Artist Point. It was horrible. I had to send it back. They did give me some soup while I was waiting for a new one.

My wife had to throw away her oatmeal from Sunshine Cafe. In addition, there was some kid that was throwing up, which made everything that much less appetizing.

ick. We just got back and had the same thing happen to us at Teppan Edo. I felt bad for the kid, but it definately puts a different *spin* on a meal. :scared:

I'm very surprised at these choices, as we've eaten at all of these places, too many times to count, and this is not the norm at any of them.

Sorry you experienced this, but honestly, these places are known for having decent and consistent food and service, most of the time.

Chicken parm at Mama Melrose-absolutely disgusting!!!! Nasty mystery meat, brown tomato sauce (Have had better from a jar) and room temp! EW!:scared1:

The absolutely worst thing we have had , the plate of food from Sleeping beauty's tea party. There was this "tart" or so I thought. I popped it into my mouth and it tasted like horse manure smells! Must have been some kind of green cheesey thing. nasty!

I think that's like sage derby cheese or something like that. I like it, but I like funky cheese. If you're not into strong cheeses, you're definitely not going to like it. I thought the food at the princess tea party was ok, but it's a snack, not a meal.

Everything I tried last July at Le Cellier. I had the Filet, the cheese soup and the choclate mousse.. The first two were so incredible salty- they were impossible to eat( kinda like a mouthful of ocean.) The dessert was cute but tasteless. I was so excited as well after all the hype here..
Oh and BTW, I tried the soup again when I was at F&W in Oct- it was just as salty.

That is exactly what I thought and it sounds like we ordered the same thing. I would prefer it if places went really light on salt and left you to add more if you want it. The only Thing we liked there was the maple beer and the wine that I had.

It is a tie--the buffet at Hollywood & Vine and the skillet at WCC--neither one--NEVER AGAIN! Disgusting is too kind of a word for it.

ITA! The worst thing we've ever had at disney has been ANYTHING at Hollywood and Vine. It's horrible.

I didn't notice this post just above mine when I posted yesterday. So it WAS herring. I often wondered if I just imagined that it was fish. I'm with you! Everyone in my family loved Biergarten and I just can't get beyond that fish salad. It still makes me gag! Can't go back there!

If I ate the herring thinking it would be apple sald, then i would agree, "Gross." However, knowing in advance what it was, I have to say I LOVED it (b/c I love herring salad).

I have to admit that I agree with many posters' assessments of the burger at ABC. In fact, unless the burgers/fries at any WDW restaurant are hot and fresh, they completely yucky. Same with Pizza Planet's pizza. I can eat it when it's very hot and fresh (it rarely seems to be) but hate it otherwise. Unfortunately, DD always asks to go there! :rolleyes2
