what's the worst thing you've eaten at wdw?

We did a chocolate challenge in EPCOT and stopped for some cake in Morocco. It had such promise and was covered in chocolate chips and icing, but it was so dry and uggh, was not yummy chocolatey goodness at all. It tasted like chalk--never again!

I've had a cheeseburger from the ABC Commissary that gave me food poisoning. ....Needless to say, that is my vote for worst food I've eaten at WDW and I refuse to eat another one there for as long as I continue to visit the World!

Worst was a shredded carrot pile covered with some kind of sweet glaze that was listed as a dessert at Sanaa. Not carrot cake but a cake of carrot. Yuck!

The worst food we had at WDW was from Pecos Bill's in MK. Dry, gross burger and drier bun. I'm not picky either.

The best meal I had was the tuna fillet over veggie risotto at Mama Melrose's in DHS. I was very surprised to enjoy it so much.

Just wondering...has anyone sent (table service) or taken (counter service) their food back because it was inedible? If so, what was the response? :confused3

I have to agree with the burger at Peco Bills. Very hard to eat and I'm also not picky. We just got back last night and our least favorite meal was at the Grand Floridian Cafe. My DH got a burger and I got pasta and both were not good

One of the worst things I ever had at WDW was the beignets at POFQ. They were super greasy. Yuck!

A bad meal was at Chef Mickey's. WDW was experimenting with a new cut of carved beef and it was inedible. The whole meal was pretty bad food-wise. The only redeeming factor was the characters that night. They were great! They went far above the usual quick stop that happens at many character meals.

A lunch at Tusker House buffet was pretty bad! That used to be my favorite quick serve. They had an excellent vegetarian sandwich.

I can recall one time we complained about our food. A family member found a fingernail in a kids' pizza. It was the kind of pizza that's like a tomato cookie - so it was either a fingernail, or a bit of plastic that looked JUST like a fingernail. It was pretty nasty. It was at Kouzzina. The "Greek style lasagna" (pastitsio) was also really horrible. I like Greek food, and have even had decent pastitsio before. There's was just bad.

The waitress removed ONLY the cost of the pizza, not eventhe cost ofthe kid's meal. ($5 off a meal that was around $7.50) It was pretty sad; she still charged us for the REST of that kids' meal! It kind of ruined the whole meal for everyone. She didn't offer us anything extra at all. I'm not saying I expected anything specific, but usually if there's something THAT wrong with the meal- a manager will do some small extra thing.

We've been to WDW MANY times, so I'm sure there have been other times we brought things to our server's attention. I can't really think of any specifics, but I'm sure we've been served something like a very miscooked steak, been given the wrong item, or had major mischarges on our bill...that sort of thing. We often overlook small mistakes, because they are usually balanced out by very kind CM's.

This fishermen's pie at Cookes of Dublin is described on allears as: fresh cuts of seafood simmered in a white wine sauce with a whipped potato crust . It was absolutely disgusting. It was like they dumped a half a can of tuna in a bowl, covered it with some mashed potatoes and let it sit under a moderately hot heat lamp for 3 days. I couldn't even get my fork into the potatoes on top because they were so hard. Gross.

Just wondering...has anyone sent (table service) or taken (counter service) their food back because it was inedible? If so, what was the response? :confused3

I've taken things back to counter service places twice, both times because they were nasty, and the've been lovely about it, offered to replace the item, sub another item or refund my money. I subbed a different item both times.

I haven't read all the responses but everything we have ever eaten in Morocco has been just awful. I know people love this place but I am not sure what we are doing/ordering wrong? And we have tried it a few times because we forget how awful it is:confused3 :lmao:

Worst food was from Rainforest Cafe at AK. Cold, tough pizza (how can pizza be tough :confused3 ), cold fries, fatty burger, etc.

Second worst was the dinner at Hoop-de-doo, the show was great but the dinner was cold, not just room temp but cold. I understand they are feeding many people at the same time but if they cannot keep the food at the proper temps then they should go for a cold menu, i.e., potato salad instead of cold mashed potatoes, corn salad instead of canned corn with solidified margarine clinging to it, etc.

Pizza from Pizza Planet & Pizzafari...Disney pizza is incredibly gross!! (except via napoli & WGPE).

The nasty butterfinger cupcake at Starring Rolls is so overrated. I didnt like it AT ALL.

But the winner of the worst meal ever goes to Tony's. I had the chicken parm, my son had spag/balls....we both shared, and we both agreed it was the nastiest meal we've ever had. I actually refused to swallow the meatball, i had to spit it into my napkin. I also gagged a bit. NEVER EVER again.

I would have to say the Counter Service in Japan. It tasted okay, but when my legs started swelling to the point that I thought the skin would bust open and the red rash made the itch and burn like fire, I have to say no thanks!

I was utterly miserable and had to take double dose benadryl to get it under control.

Caeser Salad at Captain Cooks (POLY). The lettuce was browing, the dressing had no taste and the chicken was chewy and bland. Both of us were sick that night. Normally I love the food there but that was just no good at all.

I have to say the mickey waffles at pop...i wasn't a fan and DD wouldn't eat them either...and she loves waffles- but other than that everything was pretty good our first trip. we ate at CP for breakfast, 1900 for dinner, CReef for dinner, HWaV for Lunch- wasn't fab...but it was worth it cause it was raining and my kids got to see manny and Oso

Sorry, I don't know how to do the callbacks to other posts, so:

Someone posted: "I have an issue with eating at a restaurant that is serving frozen entrees that I can buy at the grocery store. There are plenty of other restaurants at WDW that don't do that and have amazing food."

I am pretty sure Tony's does the same thing with the Buitoni frozen stuff. Only it's better when I heat it up at home. Seriously. We've never been back.

I also agree with several OP who had the Italian sub from Catalina Eddie's. It was meat and dressing on a bun, no lettuce/tomato/onion/peppers, then plopped under a heat lamp until it was one solid, dry mass. DH and I thought they were so bad, we swapped the kids for the pizza that was so bad they wouldn't eat it. They had apples instead.

Which makes an annoying segue into my last point. Another poster wrote:
"Everybody puts down the quick service places but they are there to fill a void, they're not going to have the best tasting stuff in the world. When you go into a place that will seat about a million people and all the tables are taken the food is not going to be great, they pump out burgers and pizza by the hundreds to feed the masses in a hurry. It's quick, cheap, and filling."

Here's my peeve. It IS possible to make cheap, quick food that is, in fact, not only edible but actually GOOD. One shining example--Five Guys Burgers and Fries. For around $8 you can get a great burger, drink (with refills!) and enough AWESOME fries to feed a small army. It CAN be done. Disney (and every other theme park I've ever visited) just chooses NOT to do it and kill us on the prices. Because we're a captive audience.

I guess the reason this irks me is that I EXPECT that crap from any old amusement park. I just know Disney can do so much better, but they make the choice NOT to.

The worst thing I ever ate (or attempted to eat, anyway) was a Muffaletta Sandwich from POFQ. It was the most disgustingly salty flavoured...thing, sorry, food, I've ever had the misfortune of getting at WDW.

Luckily, it was 'paid' for with free dining credits, so I felt no guilt in chucking the whole thing in the trash!

Cheeseburger at ABC Commissary... I felt sick to my stomach after, it was bad... lolol! The only quick services I do now are at The Land In Epcot, or the Pizza Place in Hollywood Studios.

I did encounter once though at Marrakesh quickservice they handed the wrong order to somone who handled the food, returned it, they put it back in the cold case, and then tried to reserve it to us... lol FDA violation sorry no thanks! lol!
