What's the worst restaurant in WDW?

Our worst meal was at the San Angel Inn (TS in EPCOT's Mexico pavilion). The strange thing was that it *used* to be one of our favorites.

They had a new menu on our last trip (well...it's several trips ago now, but the last time we ate there... 2003), and our favorites were no longer on it. My BIL ordered something and the waiter, Jorge, convinced him to get something different. "It is so good." he said, "You will ask me for the recipe. I promise!" When it arrived it was turkey roll with cold green gravy over it. Yick! My BIL did not ask for the recipe, despite Jorge's prediction. ;) But, he couldn't have asked even if he wanted to because Jorge completely disappeared. We had no waiter after that (no water glasses filled, etc.) We joked that he must have been getting a commission for pushing the green gravy, then skipped town with his windfall after he'd found a sucker. (The rest of the food was marginal at best, too.)

But, oh well... it's a memory. We made a scrapbook of that trip and devoted a whole page to our lousy meal in Mexico. LOL!

No one has mentioned Pizza Planet? I have gotten better pizza out of a vending machine (and had more selection).

Tommorrowland Terrace Noodle Station.....the only meal we every threw out....

The Beef Broccoli should have been called Pepper Steak - there was 1 piece of broccoli and the chicken noodle bowl tasted like plastic....yuck! The eggrolls were ok....but the rest was NASTY!

We also dont like Cantina San Angel - taco bell is better than this.

And for counter service.....Cinderellas Castle....weve tried breakfast...weve tried lunch....we do it for the kids/princesses....but once done....we both high five that we dont have to do that again til someone in the family has a girl....
This is sooooo not worth the money or the DDP credits.

And we are excited Patina is coming to Italy. We never were fond of Alfredo's, and we have all the Patina restaurants here in CA and I think they are delicious....so bring on the PATINA GROUP! We are excited to try Italy dining again....

We love O'hana too...a must do every trip.....
I agree-CRT is highway robbery(whatever that means) food was bland, price is outrageous. I'll be there 3 weeks.

Another vote for Planet Hollywood!

The tables were so close together that we could hardly pull the chairs out to sit down (should have gone running out right then). The waiter was rude. He insisted we order things we didn't want just because we were "entitled" to them on the Dining Plan (obviously to pad the bill and, hence, his tip). We asked for some plain bread to make our picky, autistic son a peanut butter sandwich. He said they didn't have any. I said what about the bread that comes on the club sandwich? He said it's already cut into those little triangles. Really? Is the turkey, ham and cheese already cut into those little triangles too? Do they just stack it up? Do I have "stupid" written across my forehead? The waiter was also clumsy and spilled salsa on my son and me. And the food? All I can say is yuck! Since when does a Cobb salad have chunks of dry cheese instead of blue cheese? Is lettuce supposed to be slimy or was it just my lucky day? Just thinking about that salad is making me nauseous!

Not only was this the worst restaurant at WDW, it ranks as one of the worst we've ever experienced!

Tell me, oh wise Robo, what time is "time it right"? That would be so great for our upcoming trip!!!!

Just by the by; I really enjoy your posts and put a lot of stock in what you have to say!!!!

Thank you for the kind vote of confidence! :goodvibes

You just need to look-up the time for Wishes at MK and make your 'Ohana ADR for about 40-60 minutes BEFORE that so you'll be sure to be seated (you might be called a bit later thatn the time of the ADR, 'Ohana is VERY popular) when the time arrives.

A window with a view of MK (the castle) is all it takes.

Alternate: Eat at 'Ohana a bit early, then walk down to the BEACH at the Poly and watch Wishes from there.

(BTW, I'm leaving in just a few hours, flying down to WDW for 9 days... and 2 different evenings scheduled with a dinner at 'Ohana!!)

:thumbsup2

Its hard to judge.

One person says "nay" and another says "yea."

Tusker House is consistently rated one of the BEST CS restuarants in all of WDW, by a huge number of guests.

Garden Grill is one of our favoites, as well.
Never cold, certainly not "greasy" (only one or two items are fried.)
We always have a great time with the characters.

Others might hate OUR favorites.

We may hate YOUR favorites, but I'm not going to say what our worst experiences were right now...

Very unpleasant topic, I think.

I'm sorry if anyone is finding this topic unpleasant but hear me out. When I started this thread it was because I'd found lots of info on places to eat but nothing on places to avoid. Try not to look at each post individually, but look for trends. For example, I very much enjoyed Boma but my DW took one look at the buffet and announced that she couldn't eat anything! :scared1: She wound up eating the mac 'n cheese I think, $$ well spent! :lmao: I've noticed already that there's been quite a few posts for ABC Commissary, Cantina San Angel and Tony's Town Square. Yes, eventually every CS and TS restaurant will be listed here, and I wouldn't have it any other way. :thumbsup2 Keep 'em coming folks, and remember to take this all with a grain of salt. There are positive reviews of the above mentioned restaurants as well. :surfweb:

Absolutely, ABC Commissary---I think they use soy burgers instead of hamburgers. They were vile.

I also agree with Hollywood & Vine being nasty. I have been to eat there twice, but never again.

Tony's... bad food, bad service

Boma... bad service (it was a busy day and we were among the last to be seated, still they could have done a lot better), the food was just OK, not as big a rave for me as it is for others

ABC Comissary... Bland, no flavor

Electric Umbrella... Bland

your milage may vary... I catch a lot of flack cause I was not impressed by Boma, but Tony's gets lousy reviews over and over and over. OP is right, if you are looking for a Theme Tony's, Commisary, and Mexico (both) are going to the bottom of the list.

Isnt it funny how some like a place and some really didnt like the same place

I suppose all restaurants have their bad days and a good/bad waiter/waitress can make or break a meal.

I know I wont be going to Planet Hollywood on the dinning plan as I read
a post on another forum by a waiter who worked there and he/she said that as they get lousy tips on the plan they give Dinning plan guest the food that has been left sitting there for ages, you know all the dried up stuff eewww:scared1:

Capt Jacks!!!!! By far our worst meal ever!!!! Not just in Disney!!!

Its to bad you guys did not like Ohanna's, it was one of our favs.

Electric Umbrella in Epcot - I had some sort of a wrap ..it was horrible. the rest of the food was not edible.

LeCellier...the steak was the worst I have ever had. I love steak and eat it out, grill it but this steak was the pits. The mashed potatoes and dessert was good but I wasn't there for that...Not worth it.

Columbia Harbour House - yuck
Prime Time Cafe (don't eat the Chicken Puke Pie)

I dont think that there is any review on this board that will make me NOT go to a restaurant for myself. People's taste buds are different. Even if Tony's town square has horrible reviews, I will still go there and try it for myself. Alfredo's got horrible reviews and we went there and loved it. ABC Comissary is a must do for us. Boma is wonderful, Tusker House is wonderful too. The list goes on and on.

Everyone seems to love it, but my DS8 and I pick Le Cellier :sad1:

and Boma, liked the setting, and service but not the food, and we try anything lol

Oh my gosh seriously?? I have that on my ADR's (because it's a character meal) and 2 of you said the same thing about the food:scared1: Is it worth it for the character part??? I understand that everyone has different likes & dislikes but 2 for "cold, slimy"?????

The food was great when we were at Garden Grill last summer. All 4 of us loved it. And the character interaction was fabulous! It was ds9 birthday. The characters came by multiple times to play. Chip and Dale snuck up each side of the kids while they were at the railing watching the scenes and watched with them. Pluto kept coming by to growl at my dd6 and for her to rub his ears. Dale delivered a card and birthday cake. It was our best experience in WDW!

We also loved the breakfast at CRT. Yes it was expensive, but the experience was worth it. And the breakfast foods were delicious. My dd6 was in heaven with all the princess attention!

Donald's breakfast gets alot of bad reviews, but we had fun there too.

Had a great burger at Electric Umbrella.....I guess every place has off days. We must have been lucky enough not to hit any!

Yeah, you have to take all reviews, both good and bad, with a grain of salt.

For every bad review I've heard about Tony's I've heard a glowing review. Reading their lunch menu, I know that we'll all find something we'll like, and the girls will enjoy the themeing. We won't be going to WDW again for a long time, so when they're older they will probably :rolleyes2 at the idea of a character themed restaurant. So we'll go somewhere else. Plus I know overall we're not that picky, and generally enjoy ourselves whenever we go out to eat.

Garden Grill in Epcot.
My Son was looking forward to eating fried Catfish
but we got catfish that tasted like chicken fried steak--Gross!!!
I haven't figure out how they could make the catfish have
absolutly no catfish taste what so ever.
the rest was overcooked vegetables, worst than Cafeteria food.
So we ate bread for our lunch--Expensive Bread!!!
Please save your Money, I beg you!!!
